Americans continue to get bad news about how Joe Biden’s presidency is much more radical than anyone thought.
But the worst was yet to come.
And Joe Biden left Americans speechless with this jaw-dropping promise.
One of the defining fights of the next two years will be the fight over the filibuster.
Democrats laid out a plan to pass the most radical agenda in American history which consists of amnesty for illegal aliens, statehood for Washington, D.C., mail-in-voting for all 50 states and packing the Supreme Court by eliminating the legislative filibuster.
Chuck Schumer invoking the nuclear option and allowing Democrats to pass socialist and extreme bills with just 51 votes is the only way for the left to impose their fundamental change on America.
Joe Biden gave this push to trigger the nuclear option a big boost when in an interview with ABC, Biden endorsed eliminating the silent filibuster and forcing a senator to hold the floor with a speech to block a bill.
Once a senator could no longer speak, the majority could swoop in and pass their bill with just a simple majority.
”Yes, but here’s the choice: I don’t think that you have to eliminate the filibuster, you have to do it what it used to be when I first got to the Senate back in the old days,” Biden told ABC’s George Stephanopoulos. “You had to stand up and command the floor, you had to keep talking…That’s what it was supposed to be.”
Democrats believe it is just a matter of time before they blow up the filibuster.
Former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid mocked Mitch McConnell’s warning that—if Democrats chose this course of action—liberals would regret eliminating the filibuster.
“McConnell is facing reality, and it bothers him a lot. The filibuster is on its way out. It’s not a question of if but when. It may not be tomorrow or six months from now, but the filibuster is doomed for failure. You can’t have a democracy that requires 60% of the vote on everything. That’s what the Republicans have done. They have made a mockery of what the Senate should be. For example, Lyndon Johnson was a leader for six years. He had to overcome two filibusters. I had to overcome more than 100 filibusters. The car pileup that McConnell is talking about is already there. They created it,” Reid claimed on MSNBC.
Currently, West Virginia’s Joe Manchin is the one Democrat holdout on erasing the filibuster.
Manchin claims he would never vote to get rid of the 60 vote threshold to end debate on legislation.
But Manchin’s word is not worth much.
Manchin once claimed to be pro-gun, but immediately turned around and colluded with Barack Obama on a national gun registration scheme.
And many conservatives fear that is the arc Manchin’s views on the filibuster will travel.
