The Wuhan coronavirus has captured the attention of the entire world.
But there’s still an election in November, and Joe Biden wants to become president.
But Biden told one lie about the coronavirus that blew up in his face.
Even though the coronavirus is the most pressing issue for most Americans, the 2020 election is still sputtering along.
And the pandemic has highlighted just how weak and unimpressive Joe Biden is.
People on both the left and the right have noticed Biden’s curious lack of visibility.
And when he does appear in front of a camera, he looks and sounds confused.
Also, his lack of tech savvy would be endearing if he weren’t trying to become the leader of the free world.
In light of this global pandemic, Biden has tried to position himself as a strong leader, holding shadow briefings about the coronavirus, which is absurd because he has zero authority.
And during one briefing, Biden promoted a lie about the coronavirus that completely imploded.
Biden presented a video from Ron Klain, an Obama official who coordinated the response to Ebola, in which he made a provably false claim about Trump’s handling of the coronavirus.
Biden and Klain have both suggested Trump is ignoring the advice of health experts, a claim that is untrue.
Klain said during the briefing:
“All the while, anyone who raised an alarm about this — a red flag — was silenced. Look no further than Dr. Nancy Messonnier, a career official at the Centers for Disease Control who was the first to raise the alarm…Starting the next day, Dr. Messonnier no longer appeared at public briefings of the White House coronavirus task force. The president and the White House sent a clear message to scientists in the government — there would be a price for speaking out and speaking up.”
Klain’s statement was completely false.
Even fact-checkers at The Washington Post, not exactly a friendly outlet to Trump, shot down this assertion.
Glenn Kessler of The Post wrote, “Klain’s framing of the Messonnier situation is simply wrong…[I]f you look closely, you will see there is a woman standing next to Trump. Who’s that? Anne Schuchat, the CDC’s principal deputy director — and Messonnier’s superior.”
Kessler also pointed out that Schuchat’s message was similar to her subordinate’s.
Also, Messonnier was not barred from any briefings.
“[F]ar from being silenced, Messonnier kept doing her telephone briefings with reporters — on Feb. 28, Feb. 29, March 3 and March 9…She also appeared in four videos shared on social media, such as this one from March 14.”
The claims made by Biden and Klain are completely false.
Trump is listening to medical professionals, particularly Dr. Anthony Fauci who has been front and center on the issue.
Biden may want to be president, but he’s going to have to do better than these factually incorrect, rambling videos.
The corporate press can only protect him so much.
