The fight to fill Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s seat on the Supreme Court is front and center in the Presidential Election.
That is bad news for Democrats.
And now Joe Biden wanted to run away when he got one question about the Supreme Court.
Brittany Schmidt of WBAY’s Action 2 News in Wisconsin asked Joe Biden a simple question.
As President, would Joe Biden support calls by Democrats such as Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to pack the Supreme Court with additional liberal judges if Republicans confirm President Trump’s pick to succeed Ruth Bader Ginsburg before the election?
Without his handlers at the ready to type an answer into his teleprompter, Biden panicked at the realization he would have to think on his feet.
“It’s a legitimate question, but let me tell you why I’m not going to answer that question,” Biden responded. “Because it will shift the focus, that’s what he wants, he never wants to talk about the issue at hand and he always tries to change the subject.”
Biden claimed he could not answer the question because it would “unfairly” focus voters’ attention on what Biden would do as President.
“Let’s say I answer that question, then the whole debate’s gonna be about what Biden said or didn’t say, Biden said he would or wouldn’t,” Biden added. “The discussion should be about why he is moving in a direction that’s totally inconsistent with what founders wanted.”
Joe Biden is asking Americans to make him President, but his agenda will be a complete surprise that the nation learns for the first time in his inaugural address.
Biden then falsely claimed that it was “fundamental breach of constitutional principle” for Donald Trump to exercise his powers under Article Two to nominate a candidate to replace Ginsburg and for Senate Republicans to use their Article One power to advise and then consent to the nomination.
“The Constitution says voters get to pick a president who gets to make the pick and the Senate gets to decide. We’re in the middle of the election right now, you know, people are voting now. By the time this Supreme Court hearing would be held, if they hold one, it’s estimated 30 to 40% of the American people already have voted. It is a fundamental breach of constitutional principle. It must stay on that and it shouldn’t happen.”
This represented a sharp reversal from the primary campaign where in one debate, Joe Biden’s handlers told him to oppose court-packing.
“I would not get into court packing. We add three justices; next time around, we lose control, they add three justices. We begin to lose any credibility the court has at all,” Biden said at the debate.
But now Joe Biden’s handlers see that the Presidency is within their grasp and that Biden will just serve as a puppet for the radical left, and the radical left wants to pack the Supreme Court.
That is a very unpopular position and Joe Biden’s handlers want to hide the fact that Biden will now support court-packing from the American people.
