The Democrats aren’t used to journalists asking them to tackle serious problems.
But Biden was confronted with his anti-science lockdown policies.
And Joe Biden panicked when a reporter asked him this difficult question.
The Democrats claim to be the party of science.
A group of Nobel Prize winners endorsed Biden because of his “willingness to listen to experts” and his “deep appreciation for using science to find solutions.”
Biden himself tweeted: “Now more than ever, we need a president who believes in science.”
Yet Biden isn’t listening to the experts or the science when it comes to opening up schools.
CDC Director Dr. Robert Redfield said that schools are among the “safest places” kids can be and that closing schools was an “emotional response.”
“Today, there’s extensive data that we have—we’ve gathered over the last two to three months—that confirm that K-12 schools can operate with face-to-face learning and they can do it safely and they can do it responsibly,” Redfield said.
“The infections that we’ve identified in schools when they’ve been evaluated were not acquired in schools. They were actually acquired in the community and in the household.”
During a press conference, Joe Biden refused to answer whether he would try to get children back into the classrooms and instead lashed out against the reporter.
“Mr. Biden, the COVID task force said it’s safe for students to be in class. Are you going to encourage unions to cooperate more to bring kids back to classrooms, sir?” asked CBS reporter Bo Erickson.
“Why are you the only guy that always shouts out questions?” Biden said.
Remote learning has been terrible for children, especially for those who are in poverty.
Millions of students don’t have internet or laptops.
“About 8.6 million children, K-12 age, do not have the necessary equipment at home to participate in online learning,” says Kenneth Dodge, a professor who studies early childhood development.
“That’s about 1 in 6 children in America.”
For many students, distance learning means missing out on education.
If children and teachers are safe in the classroom, then there’s no logical reason to keep schools closed down.
But Joe Biden cares more about keeping the teachers’ unions happy rather than ensuring students are able to learn.
Since teachers’ unions donate heavily to the Democrat Party, Biden is prioritizing them and ignoring both the CDC experts, the science, and the importance of American children getting an education.
According to The Wall Street Journal, the teachers’ unions are trying “to squeeze more money from taxpayers and put their private and public charter school competition out of business.”
Biden needs to be called out on this behavior because student’s lives aren’t political bargaining chips.
