Joe Biden is trying to undo Donald Trump’s legacy as fast as he possibly can.
Even if that means criminally weakening America’s defenses.
Joe Biden signaled that he’d be willing to help China in this one huge way.
In the past, Joe Biden has been notoriously soft on China.
“Come on, man,” Biden said in 2019. “I mean, you know, they’re not bad folks, folks. But guess what, they’re not competition for us.”
At the same time, his son Hunter Biden was making large profitable business deals with the Chinese government’s Bank of China and later with CEFC China Energy.
As of December 24th Hunter Biden still owned 10% equity in an investment firm that used money that came from the Bank of China.
Biden has huge conflicts of interest when it comes to China, which China has been more than ready to take advantage of.
When Trump was President, his administration started the Clean Network program with the goal of keeping risky Chinese telecoms like Huawei from being part of the global 5G mobile infrastructure.
60 countries including 27 of the 30 NATO countries have joined the program.
But Joe Biden is unsure whether he’ll continue the initiative.
Biden’s State Department told The Daily Caller “it will pursue a more comprehensive approach towards combatting Chinese technology abuses.”
The best way to stop the Chinese technology abuses is to keep the Chinese out of America’s infrastructure.
Having Huawei as part of America’s infrastructure would allow them to spy on the American people.
“Technology is at the center of U.S.-China competition. China has been willing to do whatever it takes to gain a technological advantage — stealing intellectual property, engaging in industrial espionage, and forcing technology transfer,” a State Department spokesperson told The Daily Caller.
“President Biden is firmly committed to making sure Chinese companies cannot misappropriate and misuse American data — and to ensuring that U.S. technology does not support China’s malign activities,” the spokesperson added. “We also have to play a much better offense, by investing in the sources of our technological strength — supercharging American research and development so that we maintain our innovation edge.”
Sen. Ted Cruz said that he was alarmed by the Biden administration’s lack of clarity on this issue.
“I am dismayed with Governor Raimondo’s and other Biden administration staffers’ responses on Huawei,” Cruz said in a statement to Fox News. “It already looks like Team Biden is rushing to embrace the worst elements of the Chinese Communist Party. Huawei is a global espionage operation masquerading as a technology company and the Senate should use every tool at our disposal to keep Huawei on the Entities List.”
