Joe Biden’s latest poll numbers are alarming for the Democrats.
He’s become a major liability to his entire party.
And the Democrats are in full-on panic mode after seeing these new poll numbers from Joe Biden.
President Joe Biden’s approval rating has dropped to 39% according to the latest poll from CNN released last Thursday.
Respondents were asked whether they were “approving or disapproving of the way Joe Biden is handling his job as president.”
39% said they approved of Biden’s performance as president, while a whopping 61% disapproves.
Biden’s numbers on how he’s handled the economy were particularly bad with 58% saying his presidency has made the economy worse.
These numbers are concerning to Democrats, many of whom are trying to distance themselves from Biden.
Sen. Jon Tester (D-MT), who is up for reelection this year, told The Hill, “[the Democrats] got to be concerned about those poll numbers, you just do.”
“There’s plenty of time to get them back up. Whether he can or not, I just don’t know but you got to be concerned,” he added.
Tester only won his seat by 3.5% points in 2018, so the pressure is there.
Rep. Gabe Vasquez (D-NM) shared a similar sentiment when speaking with Politico in August.
“I’m hyper-focused on the district. I think the most important job that a congressperson can do is first listen and then react,” Vasquez said. “And so I’m not going to go into my district pushing a Democratic agenda that people don’t feel is happening on the ground.”
But Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has a different take on Biden’s flailing economic woes. She posted a video last month claiming that inflation is “propaganda.”
The video, from left-wing New Zealand group Aotearoa Liberation League, blamed “greedy shareholders” for creating “propaganda” about inflation.
“The price of everything keeps going up; meanwhile, the corporations selling those things are making massive profits,” the video stated. “The goal of the capitalist is to disconnect these two facts from one another. So they use this concept of inflation.”
“The propaganda around inflation and cost of living is so powerful that we forget the very basic fact that corporations set the prices for their products,” the video continued. “If a corporation raises its prices and then makes record profits, that’s not some invisible monster. It’s just a bunch of greedy shareholders.”
However, Ocasio-Cortez’s constituents did not agree with her perspective and many were enraged when asked about the video.
A 41-year-old certified nursing assistant and single mother told the New York Post, “Is AOC crazy? Has she been to a grocery store recently? $1,000 ain’t nothing no more. $100 ain’t nothing no more. Maybe she should spend some time in the projects and really help people.”
