One Democrat has betrayed Joe Biden.
He made a nasty threat and it’s turned D.C. politics on its head.
Joe Biden received a threat from one Democrat that could end his presidency.
When Joe Biden was first elected, the U.S. Senate was split 50-50 between Democrats and Republicans.
That meant that Joe Manchin, the Democrat Senator from West Virginia, had an unusual amount of power.
Manchin is a “centrist Democrat” – or at least by the radical and insane standards of today’s Democratic Party.
He is a leftist on a number of issues, including unions and government spending, but because he doesn’t agree with the crazy, radical ideas like the Green New Deal, he’s considered a “moderate.”
He positions himself that way because he represents one of the most Republican states in America, the state of West Virginia. He knows he can’t sign onto Biden’s agenda 100%.
Because of that, he tanked a number of Democrat agenda items during Biden’s first two years in office.
This made Democrats furious with him.
They thought they could end his career, but now he may turn the tables on Biden in a way no one saw coming.
According to Fox News, “Speculation is mounting about a third-party ticket following last week’s announcement by No Labels that moderate Democratic Sen. Joe Manchin of West Virginia would serve as an honorary co-host of the group’s ‘Common Sense’ town hall, which will take place at the New Hampshire Institute of Politics at Saint Anselm College in Manchester.”
“Manchin, who often clashes with his party’s progressive wing, Senate leadership and the White House, has yet to announce whether he will seek another six-year term in the Senate in 2024 in a state that’s turned dark red in recent years. He’s also refused to shut down speculation about a possible presidential run.”
The rule of thumb in presidential politics is unless someone says specifically that they are not running – they’re usually running.
Joe Manchin isn’t shooting down speculation that he’ll challenge Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election.
The effort is being spearheaded by Joe Lieberman, the former Senator from Connecticut, who’s a Democrat on most issues, but backed John McCain for President in 2008 because they both support war.
The article continues, “Lieberman has praised Manchin, telling Fox Digital in May that Manchin, along with two other moderates – Republican Sen. Susan Collins of Maine and former GOP Gov. Larry Hogan of Maryland – ‘are very active members of No Labels’ and ‘would be naturals to consider’ for any potential third-party ticket.”
It seems there is a serious, third-party movement growing to take down Joe Biden, and his presidency may be in serious trouble.
