The left has spent the last four years trying to take down Trump.
Democrats have used the federal courts to terrorize Trump associates and send them to jail.
And now one judge dealt Trump a stinging defeat. This is Trump’s next move.
Former Trump aide Roger Stone was just sentenced to 40 months in prison.
Stone was one of the many Trump allies who was indicted as a result of Robert Mueller’s witch hunt of an investigation.
The investigation was based upon the lies made up by the radical left that Trump colluded with Vladimir Putin and the Russian government to win the 2016 presidential election.
And despite an investigation spanning years and using millions of valuable tax dollars, there was never any evidence that Trump committed any of the crimes he was accused of.
Following a lengthy testimony by Mueller, Trump was exonerated in a federal hearing.
But that didn’t keep Mueller from going after every Trump ally he could.
He made multiple arrests, including former Trump aide Roger Stone.
But Trump won’t take this injustice sitting down.
The Washington Post reports:
While Roger Stone was being sentenced in a federal courtroom for crimes he committed to cover up his 2016 activities coordinating between WikiLeaks and the Trump campaign, President Trump was angrily tweeting about how unfair it was that Stone had been indicted at all, unlike Trump’s enemies.
Stone was sentenced to 40 months in prison for the seven crimes he was convicted of.
That did not stop U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson from sentencing Stone to 40 months in prison for the seven counts he was convicted on, including lying to Congress, witness tampering and obstruction.
“The defendant lied about a matter of great national and international significance. This is not campaign hijinks. This is not just Roger being Roger,” the judge said. “There was nothing unfair, phony, or disgraceful about the investigation or the prosecution.”
But Americans see this for the injustice it is, and are calling for the President to make a statement to the left by issuing a presidential pardon.
Still, the mainstream media is painting this story as Trump corrupting the justice system. This is made evident in an editorial from the Washington Post:
Unfortunately, now the only question is whether it will take a few days or merely a few hours for Stone to get his pardon from Trump.
There will be a temptation, if that happens, to respond with “We all knew it was coming” or “Just another crazy day in Trumpland!”
But we must resist that temptation. We are witnessing the perversion of our justice system, along with so many other American institutions, for the whims of one immoral, corrupt man. We cannot treat it as anything other than the abomination it is.
Stone’s trial has illustrated a great deal about how Trump is corrupting our system. We saw how Attorney General William P. Barr intervened in the case, overruling the sentencing recommendation of Stone’s prosecutors to recommend a lighter sentence, leading to a mass withdrawal from the case in apparent protest.
But if Trump issues a presidential pardon, it will not be out of blatant disregard for the law, but out of a sense of justice and defiance of the left’s corruption.
