Robert Mueller is dead-set on taking down President Donald Trump.
He is doing everything in his power to tie him to any crime possible.
And Judge Napolitano just exposed a scary thing Mueller will do.
Special Counsel Robert Mueller has one thing he has been trying to get for over a year.
That one thing is a sit-down interview with President Donald Trump.
If he is able to get that, his entire game plan changes.
Currently, Mueller is searching for any crime he can find to tie to Trump.
But if he gets an interview, he then has the ability to create a crime.
If Trump is under oath, which would be the case, forcing him into a perjury trap will be a real danger for the president.
It’s how Mueller took down General Michael Flynn, whose only crime is lying to the FBI over a technicality.
He can try to do the same to Trump, which is why an interview is being fiercely fought against by Trump’s legal team.
Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani even goes so far as to say Trump will only interview with Mueller over his “dead body.”
But as Fox News legal analyst Judge Andrew Napolitano points out, that meeting with likely not be Trump’s choice.
While Mueller cannot compel Trump to partake in a sit-down interview, a grand jury can.
And Napolitano argues that this situation is much worse, even going so far as to call it a “doomsday” scenario.
In front of Mueller’s team, Trump can confer with his legal team, even leaving the room to talk with them between questions.
But with a grand jury, that will not be the case.
“It is just the president and the prosecutors and FBI agents and grand jurors, there is nobody there to help him at all,” Napolitano explains. “And he would leave the room at his own peril.”
“That would be doomsday,” Napolitano claims.
In order to force Trump in front of a grand jury, a probable cause of a crime needs to be found first.
There are a few avenues they will likely go into for that.
The most probable case has to do with the “hush money” payment made to Stormy Daniels through his then-attorney Michael Cohen.
Cohen has already pled guilty to campaign finance violations around that payment.
But that plea is a part of a deal relating to two other more serious crimes.
So it doesn’t mean that Cohen even did anything wrong, to begin with.
Without a guilty plea, Cohen likely would be found innocent for the violation.
As The Daily Signal points out, the payment appears to be fully legal.
“FECA (52 U.S.C. 30114 (b)(2)) specifically says that campaign-related expenses do not include any expenditures “used to fulfill any commitment, obligation, or expense of a person that would exist irrespective of the candidate’s election campaign.””
Considering the celebrity status, and wealth of Trump, the payment likely would occur regardless of the election occurring.
Celebrities paying people off to avoid scandals isn’t unheard of.
But that doesn’t matter to the media, or the deep state trying to take down Trump.
If they want to use that as justification to take down the president, that is exactly what they will try to do.
Do you think Trump should sit down for an interview with Mueller?
