Kamala Harris is one of Joe Biden’s biggest liabilities heading into the 2024 election.
It’s easy to see why.
Kamala Harris’s response to one simple question will leave your jaw on the floor.
The FiveThirtyEight.com polling average shows just 39 percent of Americans approve of the job Kamala Harris is doing as vice president.
Americans recoil from Harris’s comic book movie supervillain cackle, her failure as the administration’s border czar to stem the flow of illegal aliens pouring into the country, and Harris’s otherworldly ability to unleash incomprehensible word salads when she is reading prepared remarks off a teleprompter.
The Biden team likes to keep Harris hidden away from voters as much as possible because as embarrassing as Harris can be in a controlled setting, Harris morphs into a five-alarm dumpster fire in unscripted settings.
Harris’s limitations were on display in a local interview.
Politicians prefer local interviews because reporters usually ask less hostile questions than national correspondents because they aren’t trying to create content or build a brand.
But even in a soft-focus media setting Harris still imploded.
A local reporter asked Harris about the fact that more than half of Americans disapprove of her job in office.
“What do you say to those voters about the next four years that you’re looking to make these changes?” the reporter asked Harris.
Harris completely dodged the question with a bizarre answer about how she is “very excited about the next four years.”
“People stood in line and waited sometimes for hours to vote and they did so because they wanted to put in their order,” Harris added.
Democrats are stuck with Harris.
Joe Biden can’t drop her from the ticket because Harris was only selected for identity politics.
Democrats’ only strategy with Harris is just to grin and bear and hope Harris does not implode too badly on the campaign trail.
The vice-presidential candidate debate is always a low-stakes affair.
But that may not be the case in 2024.
That’s because of Joe Biden’s advanced age.
An ABC/Washington Post poll found just 32 and 33 percent of Americans thought Joe Biden was mentally sharp and physically fit enough to serve as president.
In 2024 Joe Biden will ask a skeptical public to send him back to the White House until he is 86 years old.
Many Americans worry Biden will have to step down before his second term ends which means any vote for Joe Biden is a vote to potentially make Kamala Harris president.
And if Harris implodes in the vice-presidential debate it could create serious doubts in the minds of swing voters about trusting Harris to one day run the country.
