Chuck Schumer and the Democrats are counting down the days until the midterms.
They believe a blue wave will sweep them into power.
But these polls about Brett Kavanaugh crushed Chuck Schumer’s plans for 2018.
Democrats Hurt by Opposing Kavanaugh
Red state Democrats are in trouble.
The latest polling shows voters in states Trump won strongly support the Senate confirming Brett Kavanaugh.
Democrats face a disaster.
Candidates running for re-election in deep red states announced they would oppose Kavanaugh.
Voters swung against them.
NBC North Dakota and Strategic Research Associates released a brand new poll that showed Republican Kevin Cramer leading Democrat Senator Heidi Heitkamp by ten points.
Cramer’s support for Kavanaugh fueled his lead.
The poll found 60 percent of North Dakota residents want the Senate to confirm Kavanaugh.
Just 27 percent do not.
The news gets worst for Democrats
West Virginia Democrat Joe Manchin announced he would wait for the FBI investigation to decide how to vote.
“I want to hear that they have spoken to the people who she (Ford) has identified who were at the party that she knew as acquaintances, that the people she identified as being the accosters — which was Judge Kavanaugh and a friend, there’s only two people she put in the room,” he said. “The other people downstairs have to have some knowledge of this. Then if there is none, if there’s nothing conclusive, then it’ll be based on the merits of him being qualified.”
Polls show West Virginians want Kavanaugh confirmed.
A Public Opinion Strategies poll found 59 percent of West Virginians found Kavanaugh more believable than Ford.
And 58 percent want to see him confirmed.
Manchin already angered home state voters when he lied about supporting the Second Amendment.
He claimed to back gun rights.
But in 2013, he sponsored legislation that would allow Barack Obama to create a national gun registration database.
Betraying his voters on guns and Kavanaugh could be the final nail in his political coffin.
Manchin did vote for Neil Gorsuch.
However, liberals view Kavanaugh as a possible fifth vote to overturn Roe v. Wade.
If Manchin votes for Kavanaugh his Democrat base could abandon him.
Manchin is a very two-faced politician.
His voters cannot trust a word he says.
What’s at Stake for Democrats
Schumer and other Democrats believed their chances to win the Senate were improving.
They only need to flip two Republicans seats to win control of the chamber.
And polls show they have strong chances to win the races in Arizona and Nevada.
That’s because Republicans are running moderate, pro-amnesty, anti-Trump Republicans.
But the Kavanaugh fight throws the Senate map into chaos.
If Republicans pick up just one Democrat seat – as seems likely with Cramer leading Heitkamp – then Vice President Mike Pence will break the tie on any 50-50 vote.
Republicans believe Democrats opposition to Kavanaugh woke up the GOP base.
Democrats running in states like Missouri, Indiana, North Dakota, Montana, and West Virginia are in grave danger of losing over their opposition to Kavanaugh.
The left thought opposing Kavanaugh was a political winner.
But it may end up sealing their own doom.
