He thought he was in the clear.
But nothing could be further from the truth.
Now, Kayleigh McEnany delivers one message that is bad news for one Democrat.
It is no secret that the Democrats have been trying to pass off the enormous violence tearing through the country as the fault of the federal agents.
They claimed the protests only turned to riots because the federal police escalated the situation.
They said the protesters were defending themselves.
When federal agents were removed from Portland, they claimed that all was peaceful again.
But nothing could be further from the truth.
Now that the feds have been removed from Portland, the truth can at last be seen.
The violence was not caused by the federal agents, the rioters were violent from the start.
And they continue to be violent as riots rage day and night.
The riots have even spread to residential neighborhoods.
Garage doors bear graffiti stains and slogans and streets are littered with rocks as the riots get closer and closer to where people live.
City streets simply can’t contain the unrest anymore.
This is bad news for the Democrats, who sided with the rioters in an attempt to win them over.
In light of this, when White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany gave her latest press conference, she ardently condemned the Democrats’ support of the raging violence.
She especially called out Ted Wheeler, who previously would not acknowledge the violence was caused by the rioters and who sided with the rioters as they continued to spread catastrophe.
Several weeks ago, Wheeler called the federal police “paramilitary forces,” who were threatening and attacking the rioters.
He claimed they were to blame and admonished the government for “controlling” the people.
In fact, the opposite was true.
The rioters were attacking buildings with police in them, barricading the doors and attempting to set it on fire with the officers still inside.
Once the federal agents were pulled out of Portland and replaced with local officers, Wheeler apparently changed his tune.
He tweeted:
“When you commit arson with an accelerant in an attempt to burn down a building that is occupied by people who you have intentionally trapped inside, you are not demonstrating, you are attempting to commit murder.”
McEnany blasted him for his wishy-washy behavior, stating:
“He could not be more right about that, it is a drastic change. It took him seventy-three days to come up with that realization.”
After the video aired, several other people tweeted out their agreement with McEnany.
Susan Crabtree stated:
“.@PressSec ends WH briefing by congratulating “liberal” Portland Mayor Wheeler for coming around to understand that rioters trying to burn down a building w/ people inside are not protesting by conspiring to commit murder.”
It is not surprising Wheeler has come under fire for this drastic change in his stance.
We can only wait to see what else he will change to gain public approval.
