Joe Biden’s political standing is not as sturdy as many think.
Many in his party are already plotting for a future without Joe Biden.
And a key Democrat just flipped on Joe Biden for one reason you won’t believe.
The crisis at the southern border is about to explode into a full-fledged calamity.
Biden administration officials announced their intention to end Title 42 by December 21.
Title 42 was one of Donald Trump’s most successful immigration policies because it allowed the government to expedite deportation of illegal aliens back to their home country when they were caught crossing the border.
Biden administration officials told Axios they expect an unprecedented deluge of illegal aliens to cross the border once cartel traffickers see Title 42 rolled back.
“Officials now are preparing for the possibility of between 12,000 to 14,000 migrants attempting to cross every day,” Axios reports.
Some Democrats understand Joe Biden’s open borders agenda is a massive political liability.
California Governor Gavin Newsom said he will not challenge Biden in 2024.
But Newsom would run for president in 2024 if Biden passes on the race or in 2028 if Biden follows through with his promise to run for re-election.
Newsom has one of the sharpest political antennas in the Democrat Party and it stuck out that Newsom made sure he gave an interview to ABC creating daylight between him and Joe Biden – as well as Kamala Harris who could be Newsom’s top rival in 2024 or 2028 – on the issue of immigration.
“The fact is, what we’ve got right now is not working and is about to break in a post-42 world unless we take some responsibility and ownership,” Newsom began.
Newsom tried to pitch himself as a Democrat looking for a solution to the crisis.
“I’m saying that as a father,” Newsom continued. “I’m saying that as someone that feels responsible for being part of the solution and I’m trying to do my best here.”
Newsom then criticized Biden for flying plane load after plane load full of illegal aliens into California.
“The more we do, the burden is placed disproportionate on us,” Newsom added.
Newsom told ABC this conveyor belt of illegal alien flights put the state on the verge of breaking over having to house all the illegal aliens let loose under Biden’s catch-and-release policy.
“The federal government is sending more and more flights, and more and more buses directly here to California because this state is doing what no other state’s doing and that’s absorbing and protecting and preserving our values and advancing them by doing health care screenings, and taking care of folks, and the more we do, the burden is placed disproportionately on us,” Newsom stated.
“We’re already at capacity at nine of our sites,” Newsom declared. “We can’t continue to fund all of these sites because of the budgetary pressures now being placed on this state and the offsetting issues that I have to address.… The reality is, unless we’re doing what we’re doing, people will end up on the streets.”
Newsom is an open borders Democrat who favors amnesty.
But Newsom also knows that mass illegal immigration and a lack of border enforcement is a political loser.
Newsom is trying to pull off the same trick Bill Clinton used in 1992 to fool voters.
In that contest, Democrats were coming off three straight presidential election losses and Clinton tried to rebrand the party as a centrist coalition after Republicans tagged Democrats as San Francisco liberals and soft on crime in the 1984 and 1988 elections.
Clinton revamped Democrats’ rhetoric on abortion disguising the fact that he backed abortion on demand by claiming the procedure should be safe, legal and rare.
Gavin Newsom wants to run for president in the very near future and Newsom is casting about for the right language to frame Democrats’ support for amnesty in such a way to trick voters into believing Democrats are interested in border security and solving the problem.
