Donald Trump is facing a re-election campaign thrown into chaos by the coronavirus outbreak.
Polls show Joe Biden leading the President and many Republicans are nervous about the fall.
And then Rush Limbaugh disappointed every Trump supporter with one admission about 2020.
During a recent broadcast, a caller asked Rush Limbaugh about polls showing Biden leading Trump and Democrats within striking distance of taking back the Senate.
The caller asked Limbaugh about how even if Trump won and the Democrats took back the Senate, it would stymie the President’s agenda.
Chuck Schumer would immediately slam the brakes on the President confirming conservative judges and Democrats would feel emboldened to launch more witch hunts and impeachment hoaxes now that they controlled both houses of Congress.
Limbaugh told the caller to brace himself because Rush’s answer was sure to disappoint him and millions of other listeners.
“Well, I’m gonna disappoint you, and I don’t want to disappoint you. But I fear what I’m gonna say is gonna disappoint you. I’m not even paying attention to it. I don’t even know what the status of the Senate is, and I’m ignoring every Drive-By Media news story about it ’cause I don’t believe it,” Limbaugh began.
Limbaugh explained that the events that would shape the election’s outcome had not yet happened.
“I’m including the virus. I’m including the shutdown. The things that are gonna determine who wins in November have not even happened yet. It is senseless to poll anything right now, aside from the pollsters making money and giving the Drive-Bys something to talk about. It is irrelevant. We haven’t even had the conventions yet — and we may not have them,” Limbaugh continued.
That is likely true.
The state of the economy as it begins to rebound as states begin to reopen, the level of infections from coronavirus if a second wave hits in the fall, and the progress on the development of a coronavirus vaccine all could swing the election.
These events have yet to play out, so any polls showing Biden leading or Democrats in a strong position to win back the Senate can be discounted.
Limbaugh also noted that the Democrats’ message is one of pessimism.
Democrats moan that the coronavirus is here to stay, lost jobs will never come back and Americans will have to accept a new normal that is a lesser and more restricted way of life than they enjoyed just two months ago.
“There’s no optimism coming from any of the blue side of the aisle about the future of the country, about anything. It’s nothing but pessimism and doom and gloom. And it may sound good now and it may make good headlines now, but it’s not the kind of thing that wins elections,” Limbaugh added.
Limbaugh also predicted that the American people would see through the Democrats’ transparent attempt to exploit the pandemic to transform America into a socialist nation.
Democrats aren’t offering any solutions other than massive continued socialist giveaways. It’s nice now when they’re keeping you out of your business, keeping you from your job, but believe me, long-term it’s not what the American people are about.
