These midterm elections truly are the most important elections in our lifetime.
There is more at stake than any election in history.
And a top Democrat was just doomed by a major newspaper.
Everything Is On The Line For Trump On Tuesday
The midterms are the most important part of Donald Trump’s presidency.
Getting elected was just his first step towards implementing his America first agenda.
And he’s done a lot to do that.
Historic tax cuts are on the books.
Unemployment is at historic lows.
The world respects the U.S.
North Korea is nearing a peace agreement with South Korea.
But there is still a lot left to do.
The wall on the border with Mexico is non-existent.
Spending is still much higher than Trump plans to have it.
And middle-class taxes aren’t nearly low enough.
Trump can make progress on this, but it will require Republicans to retain power.
And if one race in Minnesota is any indication that will likely happen.
A Major Democrat’s Reputation Goes Down In Flames
Democrat Rep. Keith Ellison has made himself into a rising star in the Democrat Party.
He is the Deputy Vice Chair of the Democratic Party, one of the highest positions available.
Now he’s running for Attorney General in Minnesota, in a race shaping up to be his most difficult ever.
He has support from high-level Democrats like Bernie Sanders.
But there are other connections he has that aren’t so good for him.
One of those connections is Louis Farrakhan, the leader of the Black Nationalist group Nation of Islam.
Ellison faced questions about that connection in a debate with his Republican challenger Doug Wardlow.
In response he began downplaying the connection, saying:
“He made it very clear in the early 1990s that his views and mine were absolutely incompatible and I’ve been saying that ever since.”
But as it turns out, his connections go much deeper.
Ellison has met with and defended Farrakhan on many occasions since the early 1990’s.
In 1995 he penned a defense of Farrakhan in the Washington Post.
And he made multiple meetings with him, the most recent being in 2015.
But this isn’t even his biggest problem.
Ellison’s Reputation Destroying Scandal
An ex-girlfriend of Ellison is accusing him of domestic abuse.
She is making her claims clear and speaking out.
Ellison denies the claims, but in the #MeToo era, many voters aren’t siding with him.
One organization not siding with him is a large Minnesota-based newspaper.
The StarTribune is a left-leaning paper which mostly endorses Democrats.
Ellison seems to be the exact kind of candidate who would earn their endorsement.
But in a shocking move, the paper is refusing to endorse anybody in the race.
They call both Ellison and his Republican challenger “flawed candidates.”
So while this is bad for the Republican in the race, it is a whole lot worse for Ellison.
And it shows just how bad a candidate Ellison is.
Do you think Ellison should serve as Attorney General?
