Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is under fire for his obviously politically motivated indictment of Donald Trump.
But Bragg made this huge mistake.
And now Jim Jordan forced the Manhattan district attorney into a huge confession about Trump.
House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, and House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil fired off a letter to the Soros-backed and funded Bragg demanding documents and testimony about his office colluding with the Biden administration on the witch hunt against Donald Trump as well as using federal taxpayer money to indict Trump on bogus, politically motivated charges.
Bragg’s response was to attack the legitimacy of American democracy and the institution of Congress by responding with what amounted to a series of insults.
Bragg’s general counsel, Leslie Dubeck, lashed out against the three chairmen running an oversight investigation.
“As Committee Chairmen, you could use the stature of your office to denounce these attacks and urge respect for the fairness of our justice system and for the work of the impartial grand jury,” the letter stated.
Dubeck and Bragg then falsely accused Jordan, Comer and Steil of conspiring with Donald Trump to undermine the case Bragg brought.
“Instead, you and many of your colleagues have chosen to collaborate with Mr. Trump’s efforts to vilify and denigrate the integrity of elected state prosecutors and trial judges and made unfounded allegations that the Office’s investigation, conducted via an independent grand jury of average citizens serving New York State, is politically motivated,” the letter added.
In reality, the highly political nature of the charges and the absurd case Bragg brought was what undermined the authority and image of the Manhattan district attorney’s office.
Dubeck’s letter also adopted the laughable posture that Donald Trump should not be allowed to criticize the Democrats trying to put him in prison.
“We urge you to refrain from these inflammatory accusations, withdraw your demand for information, and let the criminal justice process proceed without unlawful political interference,” the letter continued on.
But buried in the letter was the admission that Bragg used federal taxpayer money as part of his vendetta against Donald Trump.
“Our review of the Office’s records reflect that, of the federal forfeiture money that the Office helped collect, approximately $5,000 was spent on expenses incurred relating to the investigation of Donald J. Trump or the Trump Organization. These expenses were incurred between October 2019 and August 2021,” Dubeck stated.
But Dubeck did not answer the question about coordinating with the Biden White House on the investigation into Donald Trump and the timing of the indictment.
Bragg stonewalling the investigation could push Jordan to eventually subpoena Bragg to force him to answer questions under oath about his crusade against Donald Trump.
