Maxine Waters is one of the top names in the anti-Trump resistance.
She goes to extreme lengths in her attacks.
But she just got one letter destroying her life.
Maxine Water’s Anti-Trump Resistance
Rep. Maxine Waters continually makes waves with her anti-Trump attacks.
She is hoping to cement herself as the leader of the anti-Trump resistance.
To do that, she called on liberals to confront Trump officials in public, saying:
“If you see anybody from that Cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere.”
And they have been doing just that.
Most famously is the confrontation of Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
In a move that angered Trump supporters, a restaurant threw her out.
Trump even responded angrily to their treatment of his press secretary.
Waters’ statement came just after the confrontation with Sanders.
Justifying the treatment of Sanders, she encouraged more confrontations.
She doesn’t believe Trump officials should be welcome in restaurants, department stores, and gas stations.
Her belief is so extreme that some Democrats are rebuking her.
But the vast majority of the party only became bigger supporters of her.
That’s why she doesn’t feel the need to back down from her call.
One thing that may change that is an ethics complaint that was just filed.
Maxine Waters Gets A Complaint
Maxine Waters thinks she can say whatever she wants and avoid consequences.
Even when her words are calls to harass Trump officials, she thinks it’s just fine.
But not everyone agrees.
Judicial Watch just delivered a letter to House Office of Congressional Ethics calling for an investigation into Waters.
It is claimed she violated House rules by encouraging violence against Trump officials.
There is a certain decorum that elected officials are held to.
And while they have the right to free speech, they don’t have the right to encourage violence.
If the House Ethics Commissions finds she did that, she will likely face consequences.
But there’s no telling that will happen.
With the Democrats now in control of the House they may try to ignore this investigation.
While that is likely, it will also show Americans just how hypocritical House Democrats are.
They are currently planning dozens of investigations into the President.
Everything from his tax returns to Russia collusion will be investigated.
So they aren’t afraid to spend time on investigations.
But they will likely ignore the Waters investigation all together.
The Democrat Double Standard
This is an example of the Democrat double standard.
When they do something wrong they are much more likely to get away with it.
Hillary Clinton put every American at risk with her private email server.
But because she has friends in the FBI she got off the hook.
In contrast, the FBI couldn’t find any wrongdoing from Michael Flynn.
But they still tacked on new charges of lying to the FBI just to get him.
