The Duchess of Sussex, otherwise known as Meghan Markle, only came into the public eye because she married Prince Harry, a lesser royal, but before that happened she was a B-list actress on TV.
Being part of the British royal family is a good deal, they serve a decorative function and are there as a symbol of British history.
But serving in a figurehead role was too hard on Markle who claimed in an interview with Oprah that the royal family was “racist” and claimed that being part of the royal family was so hard it made her suicidal.
Yet instead of retiring and living a private life, which is what Prince Harry and Markle claimed they wanted when they left the royal family, now Markle is reportedly considering running for president in 2024.
“The Blairite, internationalist and Democratic party networks are buzzing with talk about Meghan’s political ambitions and potential backers,” the anonymous British Labour Party official told the Daily Mail.
“During the US election last year they levelled a thinly veiled attack on Donald Trump by urging voters to ‘reject hate speech,’ which a spokesperson for the couple described as ‘a call for decency.’ Trump himself declared that he was ‘not a fan’ of Meghan, 39,” said the paper.
Markle is considering the likely possibility that Joe Biden, who will be 82 in 2024, won’t run for reelection.
Her biographer and friend, Omid Scobie, has also claimed that the former actress “has her eyes set on the U.S. presidency.”
“Meghan is the embodiment of the American dream. One day we may see Meghan become president,” Scobie, the author of “Finding Freedom: Harry and Meghan and the Making of a Modern Royal Family,” previously said in a documentary.
A friend told Vanity Fair that Markle didn’t want to give up her American citizenship because she was considering entering American politics at some point.
“‘One of the reasons she was so keen not to give up her American citizenship was so she had the option to go into politics,’ the unidentified friend told the mag of Markle’s brief time in the UK,” the New York Post reported.
If Markle wants to do something productive with her life, she could start by not claiming to be a victim in a $4,000 dress, with her prince husband sitting beside her, talking to Oprah, sitting outside on her multimillion-dollar estate.
Markle couldn’t handle the job of being well-dressed, showing up to charity events and making polite small talk with foreign dignitaries.
She proved that she’s not up to the task of being princess, let alone being President of America, which is an actual job.
