Megyn Kelly sat for a high-profile interview with Tucker Carlson.
Kelly broke her silence on many topics involving Donald Trump.
That’s when Megyn Kelly made a confession about CNN and Donald Trump that could end her Fox News comeback.
Many Fox News viewers and media pundits saw Kelly’s interview with Tucker Carlson as an audition for a Fox News Channel return.
Kelly’s appearance drew a blockbuster four million viewers so Kelly passed that part of the comeback test.
But Kelly also appeared to be angling for a “straight news” role at the network.
Carlson asked Kelly about a CNN whistleblower catching network President Jeff Zucker directing CNN staff to push for Congress to impeach Donald Trump and treat impeachment as the only story.
“Let’s just stay very focused on impeachment,” Zucker ordered the CNN staff. “We’re moving towards impeachment. I mean, don’t like, you know we shouldn’t pretend this is going one way. And so, all these moves are moves towards impeachment.”
During the interview, Kelly whacked the fake news media for carrying on as anti-Trump partisans instead of journalists.
But in this instance, Kelly defended fake news CNN.
“I mean, impeachment is a big story,” Kelly said. “If the president of the United States is going to get impeached and possibly bounced out of office, it’s a major, major story. So, I think that’s defensible on the part of Jeff Zucker, but I do think the hyperfocus on it by most media at the expense of all else is not new, right? Since the day Trump got into office, they have been hyperfocused on impeachment. This is the problem the Democrats, and to some extent, the media, is up against — it was the 25th Amendment, the Emoluments Clause, Russia, Russia, Russia, obstruction of justice — all of those things, he had to be impeached. If everything is an 11, nothing is an 11.”
Kelly did rap fake news CNN for churning out nothing but hysterical coverage about Trump for nearly three years so few Americans were likely persuaded by fake news CNN pushing for the President’s impeachment.
“So now, they may have actually stumbled upon an 11,” she continued. “They got the transcript, whatever. Trump said it was a perfect call. You can make an argument. But no one is paying as much attention as they otherwise would have if he hadn’t been told from the beginning that he needs to be bounced out of office. They can ratchet up the coverage all they want, but I don’t know they’re convincing anyone that was on the fence or in the middle.”
Kelly taking fake news CNN’s side in hyping up the phony Ukraine scandal could be Kelly trying to ingratiate herself with Fox News Channel’s “straight news” division which in recent weeks more closely resembles fake news CNN or MSNBC than an actual news channel.
