Vice President Mike Pence has always acted as one of Donald Trump’s most loyal advisors.
But now Pence may have stepped over a big line.
And that’s because Mike Pence took one meeting that could cause major problems for Trump.
The Tea Party Patriots and Congressman Ralph Norman brought a group called “America’s Frontline Doctors” to Washington to push back on the fake news media narrative surrounding the coronavirus pandemic.
A livestream of the group’s press conference racked up tens of millions of views on social media before Twitter, YouTube and Facebook censored the content.
The social media giants stepped in and suppressed these doctors’ speech because they questioned the hysteria and fear the fake news tries to whip up in order to turn the voters against President Trump.
In the eyes of the fake news and their tech overlords, the most controversial claim the doctors made was stating their experience with using hydroxychloroquine was an effective treatment for coronavirus.
After the group’s press conference, the doctors met with Vice President Mike Pence and his Chief of Staff Marc Short to press their case on the ability of doctors to prescribe hydroxychloroquine after the Food and Drug Administration canceled its emergency use authorization.
One of the doctors at the meeting, James Todaro wrote, “Just finished a great meeting with Vice President Mike Pence and his Chief of Staff. We are doing everything to restore the power of medicine back to doctors.Doctors everywhere should be able to prescribe Hydroxychloroquine without repercussions or obstruction.”
Hydroxychloroquine has become a major flashpoint in the debate over how to manage the coronavirus.
Because Donald Trump supports the drug and publicly touted it, the fake news media is desperate to discredit the drug and smear the President as a quack.
Dr. Tony Fauci has cited studies claiming hydroxychloroquine has no efficacy in treating coronavirus.
But Harvey A. Risch, who is an epidemiologist at Yale’s School of Public Health published an op-ed in Newsweek citing studies that showed the drug was effective if used early on in treatment.
Risch wrote, “On May 27, I published an article in the American Journal of Epidemiology (AJE) entitled, ‘Early Outpatient Treatment of Symptomatic, High-Risk COVID-19 Patients that Should be Ramped-Up Immediately as Key to the Pandemic Crisis.’ That article, published in the world’s leading epidemiology journal, analyzed five studies, demonstrating clear-cut and significant benefits to treated patients, plus other very large studies that showed the medication safety.”
In addition, Risch noted that “seven more studies have demonstrated similar benefit. In a lengthy follow-up letter, also published by AJE, I discuss these seven studies and renew my call for the immediate early use of hydroxychloroquine in high-risk patients. These seven studies include: an additional 400 high-risk patients treated by Dr. Vladimir Zelenko, with zero deaths; four studies totaling almost 500 high-risk patients treated in nursing homes and clinics across the U.S., with no deaths; a controlled trial of more than 700 high-risk patients in Brazil, with significantly reduced risk of hospitalization and two deaths among 334 patients treated with hydroxychloroquine; and another study of 398 matched patients in France, also with significantly reduced hospitalization risk.”
The fake news media will try to drive down Trump’s numbers by trying to claim Vice President Pence met with quack doctors pushing quack medicine.
But they’re accomplished doctors that point to studies showing hydroxychloroquine is effective.
This debate will continue because there are hundreds of studies being conducted on hydroxychloroquine so its true effectiveness will eventually be known to the American people.
