Robert Mueller is pulling out all the stops.
The special counsel’s witch hunt against President Trump is facing mortal danger after the Inspector General’s report revealed the top levels of the FBI was infested with anti-Trump conspirators.
So Mueller went in for the kill and now one Trump aide has been jailed and you won’t believe why.
Mueller and his team are putting the screws to former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.
Manafort was already facing multiple counts of financial crimes – for offenses he allegedly committed in the decade prior to working for Donald Trump’s presidential campaign – which could force him to spend the rest of his life in jail.
Manafort had been out on bail and under house arrest while he awaited his trials to start in Virginia in July and Washington, D.C. in September.
Mueller recently added additional charges of witness tampering based on messages set on an encrypted app where Manafort asked former associates to speak with him.
The special counsel’s team claimed Manafort was trying to encourage false testimony and demanded Judge Amy Berman Jackson revoke his house arrest.
The charges infuriated Trump supporters because it’s apparent Mueller is desperate to flip Manafort against the President.
Manafort has strongly denied any collusion with Russia and professed his innocence, but that has not sated Mueller’s bloodlust.
Mueller was appointed to get the President so he pulled every trick in the book to accomplish his goal.
And unbelievably, Judge Berman Jackson agreed with Mueller and ordered Manafort to report to jail.
The former Trump campaign chairman will now be forced to rot in prison while he awaits both trials.
Critics accused Mueller’s team of suspicious timing.
The announcement was made the day after the Department of Justice’s Inspector General report was released to the public.
Inspector General Michael Horowitz uncovered a treasure trove of text messages revealing the agents who worked on both the Clinton email investigation as well as the Russia investigation hated Donald Trump.
Text messages from Peter Strzok – the FBI agent who was heading up the FBI’s Russia investigation before Mueller was appointed – revealed he stated he would “stop” Donald Trump from being elected.
This led Trump and his supporters to believe the entire investigation was tainted.
Both Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani and House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy declared that the Mueller investigation should be shut down on account of FBI bias.
The timing of the Manafort announcement immediately raised suspicions among Mueller’s critics that the prosecution was desperate to change the story from the FBI to the specter of the President’s top campaign advisor reporting to prison.
And of course, the anti-Trump media played right along.
Left-wing networks like CNN and MSNBC obliged by blaring the story as a major development in Mueller’s investigation.
Even though none of the charges Manafort is facing have anything to do with colluding with Russia or the 2016 election, liberal reporters played it up like Trump was facing a mortal threat to his Presidency.
In reality, the new charges against Manafort showed Mueller has come up with nothing on collusion or obstruction of justice and he is resorting to desperation tactics.
We will keep you up to date on any new developments in this story.
