Mueller is gearing up to reignite his probe into Russia collusion.
With the midterm elections over, he is jumping back into the action.
But it may end quicker than he thinks because of one letter.
Mueller Coming Back Into The Action
With the midterms ending, Mueller is coming back to action.
For months has been following an unofficial DOJ policy keeping him out of the public eye.
That policy is to not take major actions on political investigations within 60 days of an election.
Mueller hasn’t made any major moves for some time.
He has been quietly interviewing a number of individuals of interest.
Most notable of those are Michael Cohen, Paul Manafort, Roger Stone, and Steve Bannon.
So there’s a lot Mueller may try to do in the next few days or weeks.
He is likely to go after Stone for his supposed connections to WikiLeaks.
But Stone denies he had any real connection to them.
Mueller will also likely focus on getting information from Cohen, who has been vocally opposing the president for weeks.
The only thing that is clear is that Mueller is ready to get back into the fight to take down Trump.
That is unless a letter recently released doesn’t take him down first.
A Letter Shakes Things Up For Mueller
President Trump made one announcement shocking the world.
It is that Attorney General Jeff Sessions is stepping down.
The announcement came on Twitter:
“We are pleased to announce that Matthew G. Whitaker, Chief of Staff to Attorney General Jeff Sessions at the Department of Justice, will become our new Acting Attorney General of the United States,” Trump tweeted.
“He will serve our Country well. We thank Attorney General Jeff Sessions for his service, and wish him well! A permanent replacement will be nominated at a later date.”
In the letter, Sessions sent to Trump he makes it clear it isn’t his decision.
Rather he makes it clear Trump is requesting he step down.
This is likely due to Sessions recusing himself from overseeing the Mueller probe.
Trump has been going after Sessions for months because of this.
But the now-acting Attorney General isn’t doing the same.
He is willing to oversee Mueller in his witch hunt.
This is bad news for Mueller.
Mueller Could Have To End It All Soon
One thing Mueller has had since the first day of his investigation is free reign.
There has been nobody overseeing him.
That is solely due to Sessions.
It is the job of an Attorney General to oversee Special Counsels.
That is what Trump wants to happen.
This puts liberals in a weird position.
At the start of Trump’s administration, Sessions was their worst enemy.
They desperately worked to have him removed.
But as soon as the Mueller investigation went into action, they got quiet.
They learned Sessions is on their side in allowing Mueller to operate with no oversight.
So now that he’s gone, liberals are furious.
But Trump supporters are rejoicing.
Are you happy with Trump’s decision to remove Sessions?
