Nancy Pelosi is clinging to her personal power no matter what the cost.
It’s shocking just how far she’s willing to go.
Nancy Pelosi announced big new plans with these three creepy words.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi is 81 years old and her birthday is right around the corner.
Despite her advanced age and previous hints at retirement she announced on Tuesday that she will seek re-election this fall in California’s 12th Congressional District.
“Pelosi’s announcement that she will run for reelection comes despite her previous pledge in 2018 that this term would be her last as Speaker after leading House Democrats for the last 19 years,” The Hill reported. “With Democrats facing an uphill battle to keep their House majority after this year’s midterm elections, speculation has grown that House Democrats will replace their old guard of leadership.”
Pelosi explained her justification for not giving up control in a three-minute video posted to Twitter. She stated in the video that her “why” for being in Congress is “for the children.”
“When people ask me, ‘What are the three most important issues facing the Congress,’ I always say the same thing: Our children. Our children. Our children. Their health, their education, the housing and economic security of their families, a clean safe environment in which they can thrive, and a world of peace and where they are all welcome in which they can reach their fulfillment.” Pelosi explained.
While Pelosi claims that children are a priority, she has sacrificed their wellbeing at every point of the coronavirus outbreak.
Covid poses no statistical risk for children but Democrats pushed to close schools and keep kids locked up in their homes for years at this point, replacing real life experiences for a Zoom call.
The damage to children’s learning from school closures may be impossible ever to repair, according to the United Nations Children’s Fund.
“Quite simply, we are looking at a nearly insurmountable scale of loss to children’s schooling,” said UNICEF Chief of Education Robert Jenkins in a statement on Monday.
UNICEF claimed children have “lost basic numeracy and literacy skills” which they “would have acquired if they had been in the classroom.”
Covid policies also have had a negative effect on children’s mental health.
NBC News reported that there was a 22.3 percent spike in adolescent suicide attempts in the summer of 2020, comparing that to 2019. The lockdowns had the most negative effect on teen girls ages 12-17 as the suicide attempt rates were up 50.6 percent compared to the previous year.
Pelosi should be ashamed of the way that her policies have harmed American children.
It’s high time that Pelosi retired “for the children.”
