Democrats are trying to make the Capitol riot into a national day of mourning.
But their plans completely backfired.
Nancy Pelosi made herself into a laughingstock with this January 6th display.
According to Democrats the riot on January 6th, in which one unarmed protester was killed, is one of the darkest days in American history.
Vice President Kamala Harris said “Certain dates echo throughout history, including dates that instantly remind all who have lived through them where they were and what they were doing when our democracy came under assault. Dates that occupy not only a place in our calendars, but a place in our collective memory. December 7th, 1941. September 11, 2001. And January 6th, 2021.”
Yet clearly Democrats would treat the remembrance of the Pearl Harbor attack, in which 2,400 Americans died and 9/11, in which 3,000 Americans died, differently.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi celebrated January 6th by ceding the floor of Congress to “Sopranos” extra and “Hamilton” playwright Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Pelosi first introduced the Broadway playwright Thursday as one of the “great creative talents of our time.”
“May his beautiful words be an inspiration to us,” Pelosi added. “Among the words he said in the music ‘we’ll make it right for you if we lay a strong enough foundation, we’ll pass it on to you and we will give the world to you.’”
Miranda, who is most famous for writing a lighthearted musical about how a vice president of America shot and killed the first secretary of the Treasury, was a poor inclusion by Democrats.
It highlighted the fact that January 6th is nothing more than theatrical performance for Democrats while actual American history has been filled with far more serious acts of political violence.
The entertainer appeared via video call in front of Congress speaking about how a “New Year brings hope for the future.”
Miranda said to Congress, “A new year brings hope for the future and energy to face the tasks ahead of us and a renewed promise to strengthen the foundations of our democracy,” Manuel said in a pre-recorded video. “We are all stewards of the American experiment working to pass down to our children and grandchildren a more perfect union that treats all its citizens with fairness and equity.”
After the performance, Pelosi seemed entranced, stating, “Somehow the arts have a way of saying things in a way that connects that we cannot do in any other way. And that’s why I thought it was really important to have the arts lead us in this discussion and the further discussion with some of the most outstanding artists, writers of our time.”
Pelosi herself exposed that the Democrats’ mourning is a complete charade that’s just a political game.
