Nancy Pelosi thought she had found a surefire way to gain enormous power.
But one member of the Democratic Party destroyed the plot.
Nancy Pelosi went ballistic as her scandalous plan flew off the rails.
In a March 14th interview, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi expressed being open to unseating Rep. Mariannette Miller-Meeks due to the close nature of the contested election.
“Well, it was six votes. It was six votes and our candidate Rita Hart, the Democratic candidate, asked for this process to begin.”
Pelosi even argued that she personally had the right not to seat a certified election winner.
“Everybody across the country should be outraged by this,” Miller-Meeks responded on Fox News. “I certainly have been encouraged by those people across the country who have reached out to me and told me they’re contacting their representatives to let them know their displeasure.”
While her arguments might have failed to convince Pelosi, Democrat Rita Hart decided that it would be wiser to formally drop her election challenge in Iowa.
“After many conversations with people I trust about the future of this contest, I have made the decision to withdraw my contest before the House Committee on Administration,” Hart said in a statement Wednesday.
“Since Election Day, and throughout this entire process, my mission has been about ensuring the voices of Iowans who followed the law are not silenced. I am saddened that some Iowans’ votes will not count through no fault of their own. The work of ensuring it does not happen again will continue beyond this campaign.
“I wish Mariannette Miller-Meeks all the best as she serves the people of this great state as Congresswoman. This has been a difficult process for all of those involved and it’s incredibly important that we work together to reform the system so this does not happen again,” Hart added.
Hart dropped her challenge the same day Republican Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy visited Iowa with Miller-Meeks in person, claiming that Democrats were trying to steal an election to pad Pelosi’s razor-thin majority.
“It’s the people’s house, not Pelosi’s House,” McCarthy said.
McCarthy also sent a letter to Pelosi directly warning her not to overturn the election.
“You have already begun to manipulate this contest in order to guarantee a win for Contestant Hart, inventing brand-new procedure that violates federal law and your own rules. Unbelievably, this would require almost nothing from Contestant Hart but would have Congresswoman Miller-Meeks prove that she won her seat, despite holding a valid election certificate.” McCarthy wrote.
Pelosi gained nothing through this insane political fight. She exposed her willingness to use her power in tyrannical ways and gained nothing in return.
