Democrats are trying to salvage their political fortunes heading into next year’s midterm election.
However, the left is about to step on a massive political landmine.
That’s because Nancy Pelosi will hate one prediction that is bad news for every Democrat in 2022.
Gas prices shot up by over one dollar for the average price of a gallon of gasoline after Donald Trump took office.
Rising fuel prices are a feature – and not a bug – of life in Joe Biden’s America.
Biden canceled new natural gas leases on federal land and stopped construction of the Keystone XL pipeline.
Democrats also pursued oil and natural gas industry-killing regulations and taxes in Joe Biden’s multi-trillion-dollar socialist spending bill.
As gas prices rose, Joe Biden’s approval numbers tanked imperiling Democrats’ control over the House of Representatives and the Senate in 2022.
When fuel prices dropped by a couple of pennies towards the tail end of 2021 the Biden administration and its allies in the corporate media hailed the minor decline as something on par with declaration of victory in World War 2.
But Democrats cannot celebrate for too long.
GasBuddy is a company that tracks fuel prices and offered up a grim prediction for Democrats’ over $4 per gallon gasoline in 2022.
- The national average price of gasoline is forecast to climb early in the year, peaking as high as $4.13 per gallon in June. After a hot start to the summer, prices should begin to decline, falling back to potentially just under $3 per gallon by the holiday season.
- Most major U.S. cities could see prices peak around or just short of $4 per gallon, though some Californian cities such as San Francisco and Sacramento could see average prices soar to over $5 per gallon.
- The nation’s yearly gasoline bill will rise to nearly $485 billion, an increase of nearly $80 billion from last year as the average household sees their annual gasoline spending rise to $2,341, the highest tally since 2014.
The report did predict a decline in gas prices by Thanksgiving 2022.
But that will be far too little and far too late for Democrats running for the House and Senate in 2022.
Democrats will also likely find few takers for the argument that surging gas prices means the economy is surging.
Americans view higher gas prices as a sign of a weak economy as the more Americans pay at the pump, the less disposable income they have to spend on entertainment and leisure activities for their families.
And that could spell disaster for Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats in next year’s midterm election.
