Republicans are doing everything in their power to stop Democrats’ insanity.
They are taking a historic stand to stop socialism from spreading.
Nancy Pelosi’s treasured achievement got smashed to pieces by a Republican.
The economic problems facing America are the complete responsibility of Democrats’ policies.
Their massive spending on Covid relief at the end of the pandemic has resulted in severe bottlenecks in the economy due to labor shortages which in turn has led to inflation.
The way to fix the problem would be for the government to stop spending money and force the unemployed back into the workforce.
Instead, Democrats want to spend even more money and make the problems facing America even worse with their “Build Back Better” social spending bill.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) spent a record eight hours and forty-two minutes speaking against the bill, only yielding the floor on Friday morning at 5:11 a.m.
“My one minute is almost up,” McCarthy joked at 5:04 a.m. referencing the fact that House members were only supposed to be given a minute to state their views.
Previously the record was held by Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) in 2018 in support of the Delayed Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program.
McCarthy spent over eight hours ripping on the Democrats’ plan.
“Never in American history has so much been spent at one time,” McCarthy remarked. “Never in American history will so many taxes be raised and so much borrowing be needed to pay for all this reckless spending.”
McCarthy pointed out that the Democrats’ plan would make life worse for average Americans.
“Democrats have included a Heat Your Home Tax in this bill that would increase families’ heating bills by as much as $242 per year and eliminate as many as 90,000 American jobs,” McCarthy said.
“From bank surveillance to bailouts, this bill takes the problems President Biden and Democrats have already created and makes them much, much worse,” McCarthy said.
“This bill bans drilling for oil and gas development on federal land. That means less American supply, more price shocks, and more pain at the pump is on the horizon. All at a time when gas prices are already at their highest in seven years,” he added.
Democrats came back the following morning and voted to pass the mammoth spending bill but the future of it still remains uncertain.
Pelosi decided to pass the bill in the House without having secured a deal with Democrats to get it through the Senate.
Democratic Senators Joe Manchin and Kyrsten Sinema still haven’t committed to vote on the bill which contains provisions that they objected to.
