Polls showed Joe Biden leading Donald Trump by double digits.
And this jaw-dropping new poll had Joe Biden asking what went wrong.
In June, fake news CNN released a poll showing Joe Biden leading Donald Trump by 14 points, 55 percent to 41 percent.
Other polls released around the same time also showed Biden holding commanding leads over the President.
The Black Lives Matter riots were taking place and they drove down the President’s support.
But as the emotion from that moment receded, so did Joe Biden’s polling lead.
Fake news CNN just released a new poll on the eve of the Democrat convention and after Biden chose failed presidential candidate Kamala Harris as his running mate.
The results were shocking.
Donald Trump slashed Joe Biden’s lead by 10 points where Biden now clung to a four point advantage, 50 percent to 46 percent.
In the 15 battleground states that will decide the election, Biden and Trump were locked in a statistical tie with 49 percent supporting Biden and 48 percent backing Trump.
Fake news CNN pollster Jennifer Agiesta explained how President Trump made up the deficit.
“The movement in the poll among voters nationwide since June is concentrated among men (they split about evenly in June, but now 56% back Trump, 40% Biden), those between the ages of 35 and 64 (they tilt toward Trump now, but were Biden-leaning in June) and independents (in June, Biden held a 52% to 41% lead, but now it’s a near even 46% Biden to 45% Trump divide),” Agiesta wrote.
Agiesta also explained that President Trump shored up his support in the Republican Party.
“Trump has also solidified his partisans since June. While 8% of Republicans or Republican-leaning independents in June said they would back Biden, that figure now stands at just 4%. And the President has boosted his backing among conservatives from 76% to 85%,” Agiesta added.
Overall, this poll is disastrous for Democrats.
Despite the Black Lives Matter riots, a July surge in coronavirus cases and Joe Biden selecting Kamala Harris as his running mate, Joe Biden lost two thirds of his lead in the polls.
This poll also surveyed just registered voters.
Polls that screen for likely voters tend to show Donald Trump performing better.
If Donald Trump and Joe Biden are statistically tied in the battleground states in a poll of just registered voters, then the President would lead in a poll that screened for likely voters.
Donald Trump does not need to win the popular vote to win the election.
If Joe Biden only wins the popular vote by three to five points, then there is a strong chance Donald Trump will carry enough swing states to win 270 Electoral College votes.
