The Democrats can’t keep their story straight when attacking President Trump.
They’re killing their own credibility.
The New York Times just destroyed their own criminal attack on President Trump.
The Democrats and the mainstream media love to attack President Trump loudly and openly even though their intelligence information isn’t correct.
Even once they are proven wrong, the Democrats still won’t stop promoting it.
Consider the Russian collusion hoax, for years Democrats insisted that they had damning information that showed how Trump was in league with the Russians.
Then it turned out all to be an empty lie when the Mueller report showed no collusion.
The New York Times is playing the same game again.
The Times posted a shocking story that Russian spies were paying the Taliban to attack American military members and US troops had been killed because of it.
It claimed that the intelligence community had reached a consensus that these reports were reliable and President Trump had been briefed accordingly.
“The United States concluded months ago that the Russian unit, which has been linked to assassination attempts and other covert operations in Europe intended to destabilize the West or take revenge on turncoats, had covertly offered rewards for successful attacks last year,” The New York Times said in their initial report.
Yet the details that The New York Times released later paint a very different picture.
“Officials said there was disagreement among intelligence officials about the strength of the evidence about the suspected Russian plot and the evidence linking the attack on the Marines to the suspected Russian plot,” the Times reported later.
It’s unclear if Trump was briefed because the information that was allegedly gathered from captured Taliban fighters in Afghanistan wasn’t considered trustworthy by many.
“The @NYTimes cannot bring itself to admit to public that @realDonaldTrump wasn’t briefed on alleged ‘Russian bounty’ story b/c senior national security staff in and outside of WH didn’t trust it. Times is like Charlie Brown w/ anti-Trump IC folks holding football. Every time,” wrote conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt on Twitter.
Even if Trump was briefed, do Democrats really want Trump leveling serious accusations against foreign powers without first establishing that the information is accurate?
The proper thing to do was investigate the matter thoroughly, before acting, and there’s no indication that wasn’t happening.
Any chances of establishing whether Russia is guilty is are now harder than ever because of the story that The New York Times published.
This is a serious leak of information because if Russia did commit a crime, The New York Times just helped them get away with it.
All to make a cheap shot at Trump that they later had to retract.
