Historically, former presidents have tried to avoid getting back into the political arena.
But Barack Obama is different and has continually kept putting his opinions out there.
And he just fully jumped back into politics with a shocking endorsement.
Generally, former presidents don’t throw around endorsements after leaving office.
They have always been willing to let their successor have a chance without constantly criticizing them.
But for Barack Obama, his hate for President Trump is so strong that he couldn’t help himself but get back into the political arena.
He has criticized Trump continually, and during his first major speech since leaving office last month he urged the world to reject many of Trump’s major policies.
It was that speech that seemed to serve as a turning point for Obama.
He likely will stop holding back in any way, and willfully use his influence to defy Trump at every corner.
His latest move in that fight is endorsing Democrat candidate for Governor in California, Gavin Newsom.
That endorsement is especially significant for a few years.
California, under their current Democrat governor, Jerry Brown, has been ground zero in the war against President Donald Trump’s agenda.
Brown has made his opposition to Trump well known and has codified that opposition into state law.
California itself is a “sanctuary state,” which actively defies U.S. immigration laws, allowing illegal immigrants to live in their state without fear of deportation from state and local officials.
The White House has filed a lawsuit against this policy in California, which the state is fighting back against.
With Brown leaving office, Democrats are hoping to replace him with Gavin Newsom, who currently serves as the state’s Lieutenant Governor.
Newsom, who supported Hillary Clinton for president, is billed as more anti-Trump than the current governor and would fight hard to defy Trump on all of his major issues.
Barack Obama getting involved in this race shows his support for the anti-Trump resistance.
It also shows that he is looking to pit his influence directly against President Trump’s.
Gavin Newsom’s Republican challenger, John Cox has been endorsed by President Donald Trump.
Trump endorsed him because Cox has stated that he will stand up for President Trump’s agenda, unlike Gavin Newsom.
If John Cox was able to defeat Newsom it would be a massive win for President Trump.
But while that would be a massive win, it is highly unlikely.
California is a deep blue state that is very unfriendly to Republicans.
But while Cox is unlikely to win, it isn’t completely impossible.
Donald Trump was seen as a longshot candidate, who many places stated had no chance to win against Hillary Clinton.
But despite all of the naysayers and all odds, Trump was able to pull through because he gave the American people something to believe in, while all Hillary Clinton could do was attack Trump.
The same thing could happen in California.
With the Democrats strategy being to exclusively attack President Trump, the people could easily become fed up and vote for Republicans.
Do you think that California should become a red state again?
