President Barack Obama was confident that Hillary Clinton would become president, and continue on his “legacy.”
So when Donald Trump got elected, saying he was angry would be an understatement.
But no matter how angry he was that day, the news he just got smacked with is sure to ruin his year.
Democrats have been saying a lot of crazy things to try to discredit President Donald Trump.
Perhaps the craziest thing they have said is that all of the economic improvement under President Trump wasn’t actually because of Trump and his policies, but rather because of former President Barack Obama.
They believe that his policies just took some time to actually show any results.
But as it turns out, despite many Democrats believing this, the American people don’t.
50% of likely voters recognize that economic improvement is more due to Donald Trump than Barack Obama, while only 40% believe the contrary.
That is because most of America sees right through those claims, and realizes that it is crazy to believe them.
This is a crazy belief for multiple reasons. First of all, much of the economic improvement is coming directly in a result of increased economic optimism, which is something that relies on the current policies being enacted more than anything.
Also, if their assumption was correct, it would have taken much longer than just a few years for the policies of Barack Obama to turn the economy around.
Considering that the only point that Obama really was able to implement his agenda was during the first half of his first term, that was eight years ago.
While he was able to accomplish minor things after that, his main campaign planks, like Obamacare, were put into effect very early in his presidency.
It also ignores the fact that much of the metrics showing economic improvement has always gone up in direct response to policy changes from President Trump.
The economic outlook of the public improved immediately after Trump’s historic tax cuts came into effect at the start of this year. That outlook ended up resulting in massive economic growth, a historic 4.1 percent improvement in the last quarter being measured.
Measured improvements were also seen in response to Trump announcing tariffs with China, and with his tough negotiations for better trade deals across Europe.
American manufacturing leaders, who have been screwed by unfair trade deals, saw that tough talk, which was reaffirmed with actions, and chose to increase their footprint in the United States, creating more jobs.
When Chinese labor can manufacture goods using what could be described as close to slave-labor pricing on labor, and then import them to the United States for next to nothing, it makes it nearly impossible for U.S. industry to compete.
That was especially apparent with steel, which China has been importing to the United States for many years at next to nothing, destroying U.S. jobs and bankrupting communities that relied on steel jobs.
So when President Donald Trump puts that much of an effort to create American jobs, and improve the economy, it is ridiculous to claim that it was actually because of Obama.
