This insane old tweet just got Nancy Pelosi in a serious amount of trouble.
The Democrat-led House has impeached President Trump for a second time.
The article of impeachment stated that during the rally that later devolved into a riot that attacked the Capitol, Trump “willfully made statements that encouraged — and foreseeably resulted in — imminent lawless action at the Capitol. Incited by President Trump, a mob unlawfully breached the Capitol, injured law enforcement personnel, interfered with the Joint Session’s solemn constitutional duty to certify the election results, and engaged in violent, deadly, destructive, and seditious acts.”
While the Democrats would like to claim that Trump’s language was criminal, he clearly told the protesters to be peaceful multiple times.
All of Trump’s words are on record and there is evidence that the riot was a preplanned attack.
The President engaged in a constitutionally protected speech at a lawful political rally.
But heated rhetoric, while not always appropriate, is not illegal and not impeachable.
If that’s the standard that the Democrats want to set, then half of the Democrats in Congress should be thrown out of office.
In 2017 Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi claimed that Trump stole the presidential election.
“Our election was hijacked. There is no question. Congress has a duty to #ProtectOurDemocracy & #FollowTheFacts.” Pelosi wrote on Twitter.
The Democrats claimed for years that Trump only won the election because of help from the Russians.
This has come under fire in recent days, especially since Twitter put warning labels on and then banned Trump from the platform.
“How does this stand @jack?” Fox News contributor Lisa Boothe tweeted. “Hypocrites, all of them.”
“BREAKING: Nancy Pelosi’s tweet spreading the debunked conspiracy theory that the 2016 election was hijacked is still on Twitter without any notice that it has been disputed,” author Alexander Muse wrote.
There is a horrible double standard that the Democrats are benefiting from.
For months, left-wing terrorists, led by Black Lives Matter, attacked American cities killing dozens of people and destroying whole city blocks yet the Democratic leadership didn’t condemn the violence until it was clear it would stop them in elections.
Sen. Kamala Harris claimed that the BLM protests that had already been seen to be violent were “essential” for changing America.
“Nothing that we have achieved that has been about progress, in particular around civil rights, has come without a fight, and so I always am going to interpret these protests as an essential component of evolution in our country — as an essential component or mark of a real democracy,” Harris said.
Most of the Democratic leadership have doubted the election outcome and even praised violent protests so they should be careful in how they blame Trump for his actions.
