Pope Francis has caused anger amongst millions of conservatives due to his increasing liberal views.
He first created anger amongst the pro-life community after seemingly downplaying their efforts.
Now he just jumped the shark with an insane statement that is causing people around the world to scratch their heads.
Pope Francis has distanced himself from past Popes in his effort to promote a number of liberal policies. Perhaps his most controversial remarks have related around the environment, more specifically about his concerns with “climate change.”
His belief that humans are drastically changing the environment puts him at odds with many conservative Catholics. Many Catholics have been forced to distance themselves from the Pope because of his recent statements.
But Pope Francis’ latest statements about climate change are so extreme that even some climate change advocates were confused.
In a message sent to the Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople, Bartholomew I, and to participants in an International Symposium titled “Toward a Greener Attica: Preserving the Planet and Protecting its People,” Francis denounced an “ecological crisis” sweeping the world, which he believes is producing a growing number of “climate migrants and environmental refugees.”
Pope Francis never explains what exactly he is talking about, but it can be assumed that he is talking about people leaving their homelands because of “global warming.” His statements likely come because of recent predictions made by World Bank that 143 million people will be forced to leave their home country by 20150 due to climate change.
But the claims made in the World Bank are seen by many as simply alarmism with the goal of promoting green policies. Even the well-known publication, Scientific American was forced to break ranks with much of the science community and recognize that the threat of climate change is overblown.
Scientific American felt that “doomsday climate scenarios” are not a positive way to create change, as human ingenuity and adaptability are never factored into those situations.
Despite clear proof of climate change dissenters, those on the left regularly claim that the “science is settled,” and that anybody who disagrees are automatically discredited for that reason.
Pope Francis seems to be taking that approach as well. Jumping to the conclusion that climate change is an “ecological crisis” is nothing more than a “doomsday” mindset, much like Scientific American was warning about.
The solution to solving climate change in the eyes of the left is bigger government. They believe that throwing piles of money at the problem will solve it and that it must be solved right now before the world comes to an end.
In reality, the world naturally goes through climate change cycles. Humans on Earth do not have enough of an effect to change the climate drastically enough for there to be a major crisis.
President Donald Trump recognizes this and has taken steps to fight back against the leftist hysteria on this issue. Leaving the Paris Climate Accord was his most bold move on this issue.
Do you think “man-made climate change” is a problem in the world?
