Anheuser-Busch is in total damage control mode over the Bud Light boycott.
The decision to go woke blew up in Anheuser-Busch’s face worse than anyone could have imagined.
Bud Light suffered this massive setback that sent an unthinkable message.
Sales for Bud Light keep falling.
For the week ending on May 13 Bud Light sales sank 25 percent compared to this same time last year.
Bud Light’s customer base revolted against the company signing a sponsorship deal with transgender social media influencer Dylan Mulvaney.
In response, Anheuser-Busch tried to stop the bleeding with groveling apologies from the CEO, putting the marketing executives who approved the Mulvaney deal on a leave of absence and firing the marketing vendor who proposed the Mulvaney sponsorship.
It’s not just normal people revolting against Bud Light.
Anheuser-Busch is feeling the heat from their allies in the woke mob.
The radical pro-homosexual group the Human Rights Campaign downgraded Anheuser-Busch’s Corporate Equality Index score from 100 to 90 in the wake of the company trying to backpedal as fast as it could from the Mulvaney deal.
Trending Politics reports:
According to the letter shared with USA Today on May 9, the HRC suspended Anheuser-Busch’s Corporate Equality Index score, which assesses companies on their policies towards LGBTQ employees. Companies that achieve a perfect score in the index’s four criteria, including workplace discrimination protections, inclusive benefits, inclusive culture, and responsible citizenship, receive the “Best Places to Work for LGBTQ+ Equality” seal of approval.
Anheuser-Busch, previously holding a perfect social credit score of 100, has been given 90 days to respond to the letter, or the HRC may further decrease its score. Anheuser-Busch did not comment on the HRC’s letter but mentioned having an employee resource group supporting LGBTQIA+ employees.
Critics contend gimmicks like the Corporate Equality Index score are nothing but an ideological shakedown.
Groups like the Human Rights Campaign wield devices like the Corporate Equality Index score as a threat to force companies to implement woke agendas and donate to the group or else face bad publicity where the allies of the Human Rights Campaign will threaten a boycott.
Anheuser-Busch marched to the beat of the Human Rights Campaign and followed every catechism and commandment of the woke agenda.
That was one of the head-scratching facts about this whole fiasco.
Anheuser-Busch already had a 100 percent rating from the Human Rights Campaign.
There was no need to virtue signal to the woke crowd by signing a deal with Mulvaney, a biological male who pretends he is an adolescent girl.
But Anheuser-Busch badly miscalculated its audience and was caught off guard that everyday Americans would not want transgenderism forced upon them.
