Liberal Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg is on the back nine of her tenure on the Supreme Court.
There is speculation that she will retire after the 2020 election which would create a crisis in the liberal legal world.
And you won’t believe who is about to replace Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
Washington, D.C. District Court Judge Amy Berman Jackson quickly assumed the mantle of the left’s latest folk hero.
Berman Jackson presided over Paul Manafort and Roger Stone’s trials – many Trump supporters wondered why this Obama appointee continually drew such politically charged appointments – and made sure Robert Mueller’s partisan prosecutors won convictions in those high-profile cases.
But what shot Berman Jackson into the stratosphere of liberal icons was her nearly hour-long tongue lashing of Roger Stone before sentencing the Trump associate to 40 months in prison.
In a column for the Daily Beast entitled “Roger Stone Judge Amy Berman Jackson: Look Out, America, ABJ Is the New RBG,” left-wing writer Molly Jong-Fast praised Berman Jackson as the successor to Bader Ginsburg as the patron saint of the left-wing legal community.
Berman Jackson deployed every rhetorical flourish in her verbal arsenal to paint a picture of Roger Stone and his crimes as one of the great affronts to American democracy in all of the nation’s history.
“The foundation of our democracy has been feeling a little shaky after all the Republican senators (with the exception of Mitt Romney) were derelict in their duty of holding the president accountable, after John Bolton was more committed to book sales than the truth, and as the president runs his own separate media ecosystem that takes his lies as gospel. It’s hard to have any faith in anything that’s going on in Washington, D.C., these days. But then along comes Judge Amy Berman Jackson, emerging like a phoenix from the ashes of the Mueller investigation,” Jong-Fast wrote.
Jong-Fast then claimed that Berman Jackson’s courtroom sermon supposedly ‘defending the truth’ provided Americans the antidote to Donald Trump’s distorting Americans’ perception of objective reality with a stream of alleged ‘lies.’
“The truth has had a very hard time of it lately. The president is not a fan. As of January, The Washington Post had him at 16,241 misleading statements. Bill Barr seems more and more like Rudy Giuliani, just another one of Trump’s “free lawyers.” Often, it feels like his administration is at war with the truth, the president’s army of propagandists seems relentless. And just when it looks darkest, we have the young RBG, ABJ, to remind us that ‘the truth still matters,’” Jong-Fast ranted.
Jong-Fast’s attempt to nominate Berman Jackson for liberal “sainthood” really fell apart on this point.
Berman Jackson claiming Roger Stone was prosecuted and convicted because he “covered up” for the Trump campaign represented a sinister sleight of hand.
Without directly claiming Stone colluded with the Russians, Berman Jackson tried to cloud the truth by confusing Americans into thinking Stone’s lied to Congress to throw them off the scent of the Trump campaign’s coordination with the Russian government during the 2016 campaign.
Berman Jackson is no brave truth-teller holding corrupt power to account.
She is just another Trump-hating lunatic undermining Americans’ faith in institutions by feeding the “resistance” its diet of conspiracy theories and partisan rebellion against the President.
