All hell is breaking loose because some Republicans are turning on President Trump.
It could cost the party everything.
One Republican just betrayed President Trump leaking an audiotape of this phone call.
Georgia’s hapless Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger dropped a bombshell with a sneaky leak to the Washington Post of a phone call between President Trump, Raffensperger and their advisors.
On the call, President Trump merely asked Raffensperger to do his job and accurately count the votes in Georgia.
But the Washington Post and the rest of the so-called “mainstream” media falsely claimed President Trump asked Raffensperger to fabricate votes and steal Georgia’s election for him.
“The people of Georgia are angry, the people of the country are angry,” the President told Raffensperger. “And there’s nothing wrong with saying, you know, that you’ve recalculated.”
President Trump claimed in the call that an accurate count of the votes would show he won Georgia.
“So look. All I want to do is this. I just want to find 11,780 votes, which is one more than we have. Because we won the state,” President Trump stated.
But President Trump claimed that there needed to be a new set of officials counting the votes and certifying the results because President Trump believed the initial audits and recounts were performed by officials that just wanted to certify the results and not create controversy by exposing voter fraud.
“So tell me, Brad, what are we going to do?” President Trump continued. “We won the election, and it’s not fair to take it away from us like this. And it’s going to be very costly in many ways. And I think you have to say that you’re going to reexamine it, and you can reexamine it, but reexamine it with people that want to find answers, not people that don’t want to find answers.”
Trump lawyer Cleta Mitchell told the Post in a statement that Raffensperger “has made many statements over the past two months that are simply not correct and everyone involved with the efforts on behalf of the President’s election challenge has said the same thing: show us your records on which you rely to make these statements that our numbers are wrong.”
Raffensperger’s scheme to leak this phone call 48 hours before the two crucial Senate runoffs in Georgia is a betrayal of not only President Trump, but also the entire Republican Party.
This story could depress Republican turnout in Georgia if voters believe their state officials are turning a blind eye to voter fraud and working to undermine President Trump.
If Democrats win both of these races it will put Chuck Schumer in charge of the Senate and hand Democrats unified control of Washington should Joe Biden be sworn in as President on January 20.
