Despite Trump having a 94% approval rating in the Republican Party, there are some in the party trying to destroy him.
The establishment of the party still hates the President.
And you won’t believe which Republican announced they will challenge Trump in 2020.
Former Congressman and radio host, Joe Walsh, may be the most vocal anti-Trump Republican still around.
Due to his massive wins, President Trump has been able to flip many of his most vocal Republican critics, making them fervent supporters.
But Walsh continues to attack Trump, with his Twitter page looking more like that of a far-left anti-Trump pundit than a conservative.
Due to this, there has been a lot of speculation that Walsh would mount a primary run against the President.
And just this week, Walsh made it official to George Stephanopoulos during an ABC News appearance.
“I’m running because he’s unfit, somebody needs to step up, and there needs to be an alternative,” Walsh said. “The country is sick of this guy’s tantrum. He’s a child.”
The one-term Congressman continued on to claim that Trump is unqualified for the position, and that is why he is stepping up.
“We’ve got a guy in the White House who is unfit, completely unfit to be president and it stuns me that nobody stepped up, nobody in the Republican party stepped up, because I’ll tell you what George, everybody believes in the Republican party, everybody believes he’s unfit.”
Walsh, who has been under fire for repeatedly tweeting the N-word, also claims that Trump “stokes bigotry,” stating that, “You can’t believe a word he says. Again, I don’t care about your politics. He’s nuts. He’s erratic. He’s cruel. He stokes bigotry.”
Trump’s campaign seems to be unfazed, responding to his candidacy with one word, “whatever.”
The biggest irony in Walsh’s campaign is that he used to be a staunch Trump supporter.
In fact, just days before the 2016 election, he said that he is voting for Trump, additionally adding that if Trump loses, he’s “grabbing his musket,” tweeting:
“On November 8th, I’m voting for Trump.
On November 9th, if Trump loses, I’m grabbing my musket.
You in?”
Walsh’s anti-Trump crusade seems to be nothing more than a ploy to get attention.
But his plan is clearly backfiring.
While he has been gaining a steady stream of left-wing fans, his radio show has been hurting.
Talk radio is predominately conservative, and in the current era is almost exclusively pro-Trump.
It is what blue-collar workers listen to on the way to work, and on the job.
Whiney liberals complaining about Trump, who is creating jobs at a remarkable rate, isn’t something they are interested in listening to.
In fact, his listenership is so bad that just days after announcing his campaign against Trump, his station shut down his show.
But at the end of the day, Walsh is a joke and has no chance at beating President Trump in the Republican Primaries.
Trump will breeze through the Primaries, simply focusing on whatever Democrat he has to face in November of 2020.
