A small band of Republicans have planned an all-out war to destroy Trump.
They allied with Democrats to try and carry out a vicious scheme.
A group of Republicans tried to take down Donald Trump in a stunning betrayal.
The Democrats will give a huge amount of publicity to anything negative against the President even if it’s ridiculous.
According to the Daily Mail, 96% of people who voted for Trump would vote for him again and 94% are happy with the job that he’s done so far.
It’s not surprising. Unlike many politicians, Donald Trump has led the country the way he promised to on the campaign trail.
But the Democrats are trying to create a huge fictional narrative that there is a widespread movement in the Republican Party to oust Trump.
The New York Times helped broadcast this imaginary idea when it published an op-ed, written by George T. Conway III, Steve Schmidt, John Weaver and Rick Wilson, entitled “We Are Republicans, and We Want Trump Defeated.”
They have launched what they call “Lincoln Project” aimed at taking Trump down in 2020.
“Over these next 11 months, our efforts will be dedicated to defeating President Trump and Trumpism at the ballot box and to elect those patriots who will hold the line,” the piece in the New York Times reads.
According to The Daily Caller:
The article notes that the four authors are conservative but have a “shared fidelity to the Constitution.” The project was named after Abraham Lincoln because this former president understood the importance of “knitting the nation back together spiritually as well as politically,” according to the authors.
“We do not undertake this task lightly, nor from ideological preference,” they wrote. “We have been, and remain, broadly conservative (or classically liberal) in our politics and outlooks. Our many policy differences with national Democrats remain, but our shared fidelity to the Constitution dictates a common effort.”
“The 2020 general election, by every indication, will be about persuasion, with turnout expected to be at record highs,” the op-ed said.
The authors added that Trump “has neither the moral compass nor the temperament to serve.” They also called out fellow Republicans and wrote that conservatives “have done far worse than simply march along to Mr. Trump’s beat.”
While the New York Times portrays them as conservatives who ditched the Republican Party because of Trump, nothing could be further from the truth.
Schmidt attacked former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin in 2010 and accused her of spreading lies and left the Republican Party for good in 2018.
Wilson has written a book, “Everything Trump Touches Dies: A Republican Strategist Gets Real About The Worst President Ever,” hardly an unbiased piece.
The goal of the Lincoln Project is to elect Democrats that respect the Constitution over Trump.
There are no major Democratic candidates who respect the Constitution in the Democratic primary.
Do you think that that Republicans’ dissatisfaction with Trump is widespread or a piece of media fiction?
