The day every Trump supporter dreaded may have finally arrived.
Special counsel Robert Mueller’s rigged witch hunt into President Trump may have just hit paydirt.
And all hell is breaking loose after reports surfaced Mueller may have discovered the smoking gun that could end the President.
After nearly 18 months of fruitless investigations and fake news, BuzzFeed dropped a bombshell.
The left-wing outlets published a story claiming anonymous law enforcement sources told their reporters that Mueller had proof Donald Trump personally ordered Michael Cohen to lie to Congress about when negotiations ended over building a Trump Tower in Moscow.
Fake news “reporters” burst out in celebration across social media.
This was the day they have been waiting for since Election Day 2016.
Finally, Mueller produced the evidence that would end the liberal nightmare of Donald Trump’s Presidency.
But almost immediately, trained observers noticed giant red flags with Buzzfeed’s story.
First, Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani denied BuzzFeed’s account.
Giuliani noted to a Wall Street Journal reporter that Cohen was an admitted liar and that even Deep State prosecutors declared they could not trust him.
“Giuliani response to Buzzfeed story: “Haven’t checked it out but if you believe Cohen I can get you a good all cash deal on the Brooklyn Bridge?” Then added, “Also why does SDNY say he is not telling the whole truth, ask him about his father in law,” before liking his own text,” Wall Street Journal reporter Rebecca Ballhaus tweeted.
Then other reporters and social media users pointed out some serious questions about the factual accuracy of BuzzFeed’s reporting.
BuzzFeed reporters Jason Leopold and Anthony Cormier claimed Mueller obtained documentary proof to back up Cohen’s claims through interviews with other Trump Organization employees as well as emails and text messages.
But ABC’s John Santucci tweeted, “FWIW in all our reporting I haven’t found any in the Trump Org that have met with or been interviewed by Mueller.”
There was one other giant red flag about this story.
When Michael Cohen pled guilty to make hush money payments to women claiming affairs with Donald Trump, Cohen confessed to doing so at Trump’s direction.
But in Cohen’s plea agreement for lying to Congress, Cohen told the court he did so out of “blind loyalty” to Trump.
If Mueller possessed hard evidence that Trump ordered Cohen to lie to Congress, why was that not included in his plea agreement?
Predictably, Congressional Democrats thundered that they would investigate this highly dubious story.
“The allegation that the President of the United States may have suborned perjury before our committee in an effort to curtail the investigation and cover up his business dealings with Russia is among the most serious to date,” House Intelligence committee chairman Adam Schiff exclaimed, “We will do what’s necessary to find out if it’s true.”
But many Russia investigation “bombshells” have fallen apart within hours.
It was important to note that after the story was published, CNN stated it could not confirm BuzzFeed’s reporting.
That led many weary Russiagate watchers to cast a skeptical glance toward this story.
