Liberals hate that Ron DeSantis isn’t willing to bend to Democratic tactics.

New startup Semafor questioned the fact that local Florida digital outlets give positive coverage of DeSantis.
Looking at election data it’s clear that DeSantis is a popular governor who helped Republicans gain a massive wave in the state but Democrats believe that the media should always be on their side.
Semafor complained that DeSantis didn’t go on “The View” and instead gave an interview to a smaller news outlet.
“DeSantis declined the offer to chat with Whoopi Goldberg and Joy Behar. Instead, he sat down with Will Witt, the 26-year-old founder of the Florida Standard, a conservative website that launched just days earlier. The governor took the opportunity to complain about the mainstream media and tout his handling of the Covid-19 pandemic,” Semafor wrote.
Whoopi Goldberg has called DeSantis “nasty,” a “bonehead,” hypocritical, and that DeSantis “enrages” her so much that she has to “fix [her] face” after talking about him.
Democrats are angry that DeSantis isn’t giving the mainstream media ammunition to attack him with.
DeSantis’s Press Secretary Bryan Griffin called out Semafor and the corporate media in a Dec.4 tweet saying, “[it’s] not luxury to have print & corporate media stacked against you – but conservatives have to fight back and refuse to accept that biased & dishonest media are entitled to attention or access.”
Griffin elaborated on his statement to The Daily Caller. “Much of the mainstream media (‘traditional media’ in the article you provided) are liberal activists masquerading as journalists. In these outlets, it is often difficult to tell the difference between editorials and news articles. The bias is not only within their writing — it is also exhibited in topic selection, headlines, focus, framing, and the ExpertsTM they choose to utilize to achieve their desired conclusions. They are not informing the public; they are telling them what and how to think.”
He added, “As such, conservative leaders must reach the public and speak truth through outlets willing to report accurately and fairly. Mainstream media is not entitled to attention, and indeed the public is better served when these outlets are held to higher standards of journalistic integrity.”
Christina Pushaw, the rapid-response director for DeSantis’s gubernatorial campaign, noted in August that “if ALL conservatives simply stop talking to them, the legacy media will lose any shred of credibility or interest to Americans who follow politics. It won’t be worth paying for straight DNC opinion. We should use our platforms to build up new media.”
Liberals want to have a monopoly on the information that Americans can consume but DeSantis isn’t going to play into their hands.
