Donald Trump is running for re-election in 2024.
But will Trump be the GOP presidential nominee for a third time?
Ron DeSantis held this secret meeting that spells doom for Donald Trump.
Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is the most talked about presidential contender in many circles.
DeSantis’s tour de force 19-point landslide re-election win realigned Florida into a ruby-red state.
In his win, DeSantis proved he could win swing voters while still fighting for the America First conservative agenda.
According to NBC News exit poll data DeSantis won 53 percent of female voters and 58 percent of Hispanics on the strength of DeSantis rejecting Dr. Fauci’s COVID tyranny.
DeSantis kept schools open and led the fight against lockdowns, mask mandates, and forced COVID vaccination.
In addition, DeSantis also beat woke corporations by stripping Disney of special tax breaks after Disney tried to bully DeSantis into abandoning legislation preventing teachers form grooming young students into transgenderism.
DeSantis even vetoed a $35 million subsidy to upgrade Major League Baseball’s Tampa Bay Rays’ spring training facility after the team relentlessly tweeted out its support for gun control.
Now DeSantis is taking steps that make it clear he intends to run for president in 2024.
The first of which is hosting intimate dinners with his top supporters to plot out the road ahead.
Fox News exclusively reports:
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis will reportedly hold an “intimate dinner” with some of his top donors this weekend amid speculation that he may announce a 2024 presidential bid.
DeSantis, riding high after his overwhelming re-election victory in November, will hold the first of what may be a series of invite-only meetings with donors this Sunday, the Washington Post reports. Invitations to the dinner reportedly make no mention of a 2024 run, however, saying only that it was an opportunity to celebrate the governor’s win with some of his “strongest supporters.”
Donald Trump knows DeSantis is his top competition.
Before the midterm elections Trump attacked DeSantis for being overrated as a governor and noting that Trump’s endorsement proved pivotal in DeSantis’s 2018 election victory.
“And now, Ron DeSanctimonious is playing games! The Fake News asks him if he’s going to run if President Trump runs, and he says, ‘I’m only focused on the Governor’s race, I’m not looking into the future.’ Well, in terms of loyalty and class, that’s really not the right answer,” Trump posted on Truth Social adding that he “fixed his campaign” in 2018.
DeSantis responded after the election merely pointing to the “scoreboard” to highlight the fact that DeSantis won re-election in Florida by 19 points whereas Trump’s endorsed candidates lost several swing gubernatorial and Senate races.
“I think what you learn is all of that is just noise, and really what matters is are you leading, are you getting in front of issues, are you delivering results for people, and are you standing up for folks,” DeSantis responded. “At the end of the day I would just tell people to go check out the scoreboard from last Tuesday night.”
A showdown between DeSantis and Trump looks in the offing.
And it will decide the future direction of the GOP.
