Donald Trump and Joe Biden have moved on from the first presidential debate.
Now it’s up to the American people to evaluate the performance.
And Rush Limbaugh noticed one thing at the debate that will leave you red with rage.
The fake news media seized on one exchange where Chris Wallace asked Trump a “when did you stop beating your wife?” style question about renouncing and denouncing white supremacy.
Liberal reporters love hitting conservatives with this question because the implication is that they are white supremacists that actively seek out the support of white supremacists.
Fake news reporters falsely claimed President Trump stood on the debate stage and offered words of support for white supremacists.
Rush Limbaugh proved this was a lie by playing the audio and posting the transcript of the exchange on his website.
The exchange began with the President expressing his willingness to denounce white supremacy:
WALLACE: Are you willing, tonight, to condemn white supremacists and militia groups — (crosstalk)
THE PRESIDENT: Sure.
Wallace asked a second time for the President to denounce white supremacy at which point the President agreed for a second time:
WALLACE: — and to say that they need to stand down and not add to the violence in a number of these cities as we saw in Kenosha, and as we’ve seen in Portland.
THE PRESIDENT: Sure, I’m willing to do that. (crosstalk)
Finally, the President said for a third time he was willing to denounce white supremacy because he sought peace:
WALLACE: So what are you — what are you saying?
THE PRESIDENT: I’m willing to do anything. I want to see peace. (crosstalk)
Joe Biden demanded the President denounce the small and obscure group called the Proud Boys that very few Americans outside of those very attuned to political talk on Twitter had ever heard of.
Wallace asked Trump if he would ask the Proud Boys to stand down at which point the President said they should stand back and stand by.
Fake news reporters falsely claimed the President did not denounce white supremacy and endorsed the Proud Boys.
Neither of those things are true.
But what got Limbaugh is the fact that the fake news media spent nearly three years relentlessly promoting the discredited Russian collusion conspiracy theory and not one so-called “reporter” owned up to their mistakes or apologized for nearly tearing America apart with this hoax.
Limbaugh contrasted their behavior with the multiple times President Trump has actually denounced white supremacy – after shootings in Ohio and El Paso in 2018, and Charlottesville in 2017 – to the fake news media’s lack of accountability.
“The repeated denials never matter. The people that have explaining to do are every damned member of the mainstream media that knowingly and willingly reported and perpetrated a lie and a series of lies for four years and counting on Trump stealing the election in 2016. Why do they not have to apologize? They have won Pulitzer Prizes for this garbage that they reported.
“They have. CNN and The New York Times won Pulitzer Prizes for reporting a pack of lies. Why are they not held up and asked, ‘Are you willing tonight to condemn false reporting on the Russia collusion between Trump and the Russians in 2016? Are you willing to admit tonight that you lied? Are you willing to admit tonight that those reports were wrong and that it never happened?’”
