The Supreme Court has been the radical left’s biggest ally for decades.
But President Trump has finally put an end to that since taking office.
And the Supreme Court just handed Trump the news he’s been waiting for all year.
There is no issue more important to President Trump than building a wall on the border with Mexico.
On the campaign trail, he made that issue his top priority, with his supporters backing him 100%, with “build the wall” chants becoming commonplace at his rallies.
So with the American people clearly wanting a wall on the border, it shouldn’t have been an issue for him.
But the obstructionist Democrat Party has spent all their time working to stop him.
Every attempt to secure border wall funding in Congress has been denied.
So Trump finally chose to practice his presidential authority to declare a national emergency to secure billions in un-allocated, mostly military funds, to build the wall.
But the Democrats are furious, and an Obama-appointed Judge recently blocked a large chunk of that funding.
U.S. District Judge Haywood Gilliam, an Obama appointee, blocked Trump’s administration from access to $2.5 billion in military funding.
The $2.5 billion Gilliam is targeting is from counter-narcotics trafficking operations.
That money is spent every year to counter a problem that an unsecure border only makes more difficult to stop.
But Gilliam believes Trump needs to go through a dysfunctional and hostile Congress to get that funding legally.
Not being one to give up, Trump ended up going to the notoriously liberal 9th Court of Appeals to request a stay on the ruling, to allow construction to continue, only for them to deny his request.
But that wasn’t his final play, and on July 12th he went to the Supreme Court to request a stay.
And late last week the highest court in the land sided with the Trump administration on this major issue.
So now, the administration went to the Supreme Court, sending a stay request on July 12th.
“The government has made a sufficient showing at this stage that the plaintiffs have no cause of action to obtain review,” the order from the Supreme Court reads.
This means that, unless another ruling is made by a federal court, a large chunk of his wall, over 100 miles worth, is going to begin being constructed.
But naturally, Democrats are already continuing their work to stop him, with the ACLU leading the charge.
“This is not over,” ACLU staff attorney Dror Ladin said after Friday’s decision. “We will be asking the federal appeals court to expedite the ongoing appeals proceeding to halt the irreversible and imminent damage from Trump’s border wall.”
“Border communities, the environment, and our Constitution’s separation of powers will be permanently harmed should Trump get away with pillaging military funds for a xenophobic border wall Congress denied,” he added.
Clearly, the Democrat opposition has less to do with the way President Trump is securing funding, but that he is building a wall, to begin with.
They had no problem when former President Barack Obama used his executive abilities to advance his left-wing agenda.
