The election aftermath continues to be a rocky period for the Democrat Party.
Donald Trump continues to contest the election and Joe Biden is acting like he is the President-elect.
And now this swing state governor made one big decision that Joe Biden is not going to like.
If, when all the votes are counted Joe Biden assumes the Presidency, his administration is already set up for political and economic disaster.
Democrat Governors like Michigan’s Gretchen Whitmer are imposing new coronavirus lockdowns that will force Joe Biden and the Democrats to own the label of the party of lockdowns and that will stunt the economic recovery Donald Trump oversaw.
In Michigan, Governor Whitmer closed in-person instruction for high schools, indoor dining, movies, theaters, bowling alleys and casinos.
“Tonight, @MichiganHHS issued an emergency order that enacts a three-week pause, targeting indoor social gatherings and other group activities to curb our state’s rising #COVID19 infection rates,” Governor Whitmer posted on social media.
In a press conference announcing the lockdown Governor Whitmer told Michiganders to panic.
“The situation has never been more dire,” Whitmer claimed. “We are at the precipice, and we need to take some action.”
Governor Whitmer also insisted residents cancel Thanksgiving dinner plans and spend the holidays at home alone.
“If you are considering spending Thanksgiving with people outside of your household, I urge you to reconsider,” Whitmer added.
“As hard as it is not seeing them this Thanksgiving, imagine how much harder it would be if you weren’t able to see them for a future holiday ever again,” Whitmer hysterically claimed.
Michigan Republicans already won a court case vacating Whitmer’s original unending lockdown order.
State legislative leaders ripped Whitmer for once again imposing a unilateral lockdown.
“We are disappointed that Gov. Whitmer chose to go it alone, again. The Senate Republicans will continue working with our doctors and the medical community on ways we can combat this virus and are ready to work with the Governor when she decides to work as a team to fight this virus,” state Senate Majority Leader Mike Shirkey wrote.
“The people of Michigan deserve a seat at the table when major decisions like these are made, and those decisions are made better and safer when they do,” Michigan House Speaker Lee Chatfield added.
“As always, we stand ready to act in a bipartisan way when the governor decides it is worth her time. Until then, we are still reviewing the details of this order like everyone else,” Speaker Chatfield continued.
Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer is one of Joe Biden’s chief political allies.
Republicans were already planning to make her a top target for defeat in the 2022 midterms.
And this latest lockdown order could make Whitmer’s re-election bid an uphill climb.
