Joe Biden’s unpopularity is causing problems for his entire party.
Democrats are bracing themselves for crushing defeat.
These five words from Democrats made Nancy Pelosi go into a complete panic.
President Joe Biden’s poll numbers are so bad that Democratic Party strategists are already alarmed for the upcoming midterms, according to The Hill.
“It’s bad,” an anonymous Democratic strategist said, according to The Hill. “You have an energy crisis that’s paralyzing and inflation is at a 40-year high and we’re heading into a recession. The problem is simple. The American people have lost confidence in him.
“Everyone needs to come to terms with the reality that we’re going to get slaughtered in November,” the strategist reportedly continued. “That’s a fact. His polling has gotten worse not better. It’s indicative of the fact that people have lost confidence in his leadership. There’s nothing they’re going to be able to do.”
Chair of the Brookings Institution’s Governance Studies Program and former domestic policy adviser to former President Bill Clinton, Bill Galston, said that the White House would have to bring down inflation levels in order for Biden’s approval to go up again.
“My hypothesis is that, unless and until inflation comes down appreciably, that there’s going to be a ceiling on his job approval that’s a lot lower than the White House wants it to be,” he said.
Biden has continued to claim that the higher gas prices are the result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, referring to the increased costs as “Putin’s Price Hike.” But the American people aren’t buying Biden’s explanation.
“For whatever reason, the messaging hasn’t gotten through,” an anonymous official told The Hill. “At times it feels like we’re spinning our wheels.”
The American people aren’t stupid, prices were climbing long before February 24th when Russia launched an invasion on Ukraine.
Since Biden got into office, gas has been rising because his “green energy” policies have been making gas prices go up.
The president is still holding to his green policies and refusing to enact policies that would help expand America’s energy production.
Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg said after Russia invaded Ukraine that Biden did not want to authorize the Keystone Pipeline because, according to Buttigieg, it would be “galloping after permanent solutions to immediate short term problems.”
It would be in Democrats’ interest to bring gas prices down since “High gas prices are one of the biggest anchors on presidential approval,” as Gallup senior editor Jeff Jones pointed out to The Hill.
Republican pollster Bill McInturff of Public Opinion Strategies told NBC News that Biden and Democrats “are headed for a catastrophic election.”
“You cannot get down to the low 40s in presidential approval unless you have strained your own base,” McInturff reportedly said.
