They thought they had a clear victory.
They did not expect to lose.
However, this one poll reveals the Democrats’ worst nightmare.
The presidential race has not always been such a close race.
At first, the numbers showed that Biden was clearly ahead of Trump.
This was a result of the negativity spread by the Democrats, claiming Trump was mishandling the country’s reaction to coronavirus.
However, as time has gone on, the numbers tell a different story.
President Trump has steadily been gaining ground on Biden in the key battleground states.
The President’s law and order message is resonating with swing state voters as Joe Biden’s supporters riot in the streets and the former Vice President hides in his basement and offers his support through his silence.
Now, the data is painting a clear picture of Biden’s descent out of fame.
CNBC/Change Research recently released their latest poll, revealing the numbers across six important swing states.
Below are their findings:
“Arizona: Biden 49%, Trump 47%
Florida: Biden 49%, Trump 46%
Michigan: Biden 50%, Trump 44%
North Carolina: Biden 48%, Trump 47%
Pennsylvania: Biden 49%, Trump 46%
Wisconsin: Biden 49%, Trump 44%”
Of course, these numbers don’t show Trump winning, but when compared to the data from previous months, it is clear Trump is gaining on Biden.
While before, Biden had a comfortable lead on Trump in the polls.
Now, the numbers are split almost exactly down the middle.
Trump has gained significant ground over the past few months.
And that is bad news for the Democrats.
If Biden loses another significant swing state, or performs poorly in a public debate, it will spell doom for his campaign.
And based on his previous outings, a public debate is not looking promising for Biden.
Additionally, Change provided information about people’s opinions of the two candidates across a variety of fields.
“Nationally, 71% have serious concerns about COVID-19, unchanged from two weeks ago, 42% approve of the job Trump is doing handling COVID-19, unchanged from two weeks ago, and his overall job performance was stable at 45%. In the battleground, serious concerns about COVID-19 ticked down 4 points, approval of Trump’s handling of COVID-19 rose 3 points to 47% (the highest it has been since May 17 when it was 49%), and his overall job performance rating rose 2 points to 48%.”
As election day draws nearer, it really can be considered anyone’s race.
And while Biden is currently doing better in the polls than Trump, he cannot maintain his lead for long.
As the mail-in-ballot disaster unfolds, uncertain voters will wait longer to vote, which is exactly what Biden does not want.
He wants people to vote as soon as possible, while he still has the lead.
However, it appears he will inevitably crash and burn.
