Joe Biden’s continued declarations that he intends to run for re-election in 2024 fell apart.
No one could believe who ratted Biden out.
And this surprising ally let the cat out of the bag about Joe Biden not running in 2024.
Joe Biden continues to insist he is running for re-election in 2024.
Biden’s latest statement of his intention to seek a second term came in a carefully worded statement to ABC’s left-wing personality David Muir.
“Yes, but look, I’m a great respecter of fate. Fate has intervened in my life many, many times. if I’m in the health I’m in now, if I’m in good health then, in fact, I would run again,” Biden declared.
However, Biden did offer up a caveat that he would not run for re-election if his health would not allow it.
In politics, it is more important to pay attention to the actions of elected officials and their inner circles as opposed to their words.
And a recent item in POLITICO stood out as Biden’s staff tipping their hands that they do not believe Biden will run again in 2024.
Reports indicate that the Biden administration will see a historically high level of turnover with aides leaving for other jobs in the private sector and Democrat Party politics.
POLITICO’s West Wing Playbook reports:
In the first year of the Biden White House, comradery has been fleeting and many teams are suffering from low morale, according to several White House officials.
The result: many White House aides are feeling gloomy this holiday season, so much so that they anonymously fumed to West Wing Playbook in the hope it may alert senior leaders to the problem.
Many are also currently eyeing the exits, creating the potential for higher-than-usual turnover at the beginning of the year, when aides feel they’ve been in the job long enough that it won’t look odd to depart.
“A lot of the natural coordination that happens in a typically functioning White House has been lost, and there has been no proactive effort to make up for it through intentional team building,” said one White House official.
While the Biden officials leaking to POLITICO tried to spin the departures as midlevel staffers facing disappointment over being cut out of the loop, this gaslighting collapsed under the slightest level of scrutiny.
People who get involved in politics would crawl across glass to work in the White House.
It is the pinnacle of the profession and allows individuals to develop contacts and build a resume that sets them on a glide path for the rest of their career.
Few give up that seat of power after just 12 months.
But next year Republicans are favored to win one or both of the House of Representatives and the Senate.
Biden’s legislative agenda ends the day Republicans take power.
Biden staffers can expect to spend time responding to congressional investigations into the scandal-plagued administration’s disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal, failed COVID response and seditious open borders policies.
Staffers could be expected to fight these battles if they saw the promise of a second term on the horizon.
But Biden’s White House staff is heading for the hills because they know better than anyone – because they are on the inside – that Joe Biden’s accelerating cognitive decline will prevent him from running for re-election.
