The accusations Democrats are making against their Republican colleagues are delusional.
They are promoting deranged conspiracy theories on national television.
A top Democrat made a horrifying terrorist claim that’s completely insane.
Representative Maxine Waters (D-CA) claimed that Republican members of Congress were actually “domestic terrorists” on MSNBC’s “Ayman” on Saturday.
Anchor Ayman Mohyeldin said, “I know that politicians tried to sound optimistic as much as they can but right now, with the leadership that we see in the House, is there any path forward for police reform in Congress after this later on tragic killing?”
Waters replied, “I don’t expect anything from them. We are going to try to do everything that we possibly can. But I think that the average American person can see what is going on. We have these right-wing conservatives who are, you know, we have domestic terrorists in the House of Representatives. These people are extremists, so I am not optimistic that that is the way that it is going to happen until the people of this country really decide that they do not want it, and they are not going to elect people who act in the way that they act.”
Waters has faced criticism in the past for her inflammatory words during the Black Lives Matter riots which many alleged encouraged violence.
Just days before the end of the Derek Chauvin trial involving the death of George Floyd, Waters attended a protest one night in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, and said that protesters should get “more confrontational” if the legal system didn’t hand down the verdict she wanted.
“We’re looking for a guilty verdict. We’re looking for a guilty verdict. And we’re looking to see if all of this [inaudible] that took place and has been taking place after they saw what happened to George Floyd,” Waters said. “If nothing does not happen, then we know, that we’ve got to not only stay in the street, but we’ve got to fight for justice, but I am very hopefully and I hope that we’re going to get a verdict that will say guilty, guilty, guilty. And if we don’t, we cannot go away.”
When asked about what activists should do if Chauvin is not convicted, Waters said that they must “stay on the street.”
“And we’ve got to get more active. [We’ve] got to get more confrontational,” she said. “[We’ve] got to make sure that they know we mean business.”
Waters accusing Republicans of being “domestic terrorists” is completely hypocritical when she’s the person who was out on the street telling protesters to get “more confrontational” if they didn’t get the verdict they wanted.
