Barack Obama is certain that his Russiagate cover-up is about to fail.
He can’t stop the Republicans from getting the information they need.
A top Republican got one new power that made Barack Obama absolutely terrified.
William Barr has done an excellent job of getting to the bottom of the intelligence agencies’ targeted attack on the Trump campaign.
He’s already uncovered evidence that made a huge difference in the Flynn case.
When Barr asked the Justice Department to look over the evidence that Flynn’s old lawyers had not handed over, they quickly found evidence that the FBI had set up a perjury trap.
It’s important for Trump to get justice but it is also important to control the power of the FBI and CIA to make sure such abuses never happen again.
It’s not just the Justice Department that is running an investigation into the origins of the Russian collusion hoax, the Senate is running an investigation too.
The Senate Judiciary Committee just voted to give Chairman Lindsey Graham the power to issue subpoenas.
That means many Obama officials that have remained silent will now be forced to testify.
Of course, the Democrats did everything in their power to keep Graham from getting the authority to subpoena witnesses, but all their moaning only caused the vote to be postponed a week.
“I think we need to look long and hard at how the Mueller investigation got off the rails,” Graham said.
Graham then mentioned the Democrats’ efforts to halt the investigation, saying, “It would be a collaborative process, but you’re trying to stop me — and I’m not going to be stopped. … From my point of view, it sounds like you want to talk about everything except for what we should be talking about.”
One of the main reasons the Democrats were stalling was because they wanted to make sure that Robert Mueller was called as a witness.
The Democrats are hoping that Mueller will get a chance to attack Trump again and they can ignore the testimonies of all the other witnesses.
Graham said that calling Mueller was “fine with me,” but warned them it might not be to their advantage.
“As to Mr. Mueller: If you want to call him, I will,” Graham said, which was followed by a lengthy silence. “I would just ask you to think twice about that. If you can find somebody else involved in the Mueller investigation that would serve your purposes, I am very open-minded to calling that person.”
When Mueller was called to testify about his report, he seemed not to remember key facts.
Adam Schiff said that Mueller was not the man he had previously known him to be.
“He was not the man that I knew just in terms of his strength of presence, and so it was quite surprising.” Schiff said.
The Democrats may be trying their best to destroy the Senate’s investigation but it’s vitally important for the American people to know the FBI and other intelligence agencies don’t misuse their power.
