Robert Mueller and his gang of 17 angry Democrats were sent reeling from the fallout of another massive scandal.
The constant drip-drip-drip of revelations about their wrongdoing has the anti-Trump Mueller on the defensive.
And now Trey Gowdy dug up one truth that sent Mueller into this massive tailspin.
Bruce Ohr was the fourth highest ranking official in the Justice Department under Barack Obama.
Ohr was reassigned after the bombshell news broke that his wife Nellie worked for Fusion GPS to gather dirt on Trump during the 2016 campaign and that Bruce Ohr passed Steele’s findings along to the FBI.
Last month, Ohr testified behind closed doors to members of Congress.
Ohr’s testimony shed valuable light on the depths of the conspiracy within the FBI and Obama Justice Department to employ the fake news Christopher Steele Russia dossier to frame Trump for colluding with the Russians during the 2016 campaign.
During his testimony, Gowdy pressed Ohr – who met with Steele in D.C. on July 30, 2016 – for information on who at the FBI and Justice Department Ohr shared what he learned from Steele with.
First, Ohr testified that he funneled the gossip he picked up from Steele to high ranking FBI officials Andrew McCabe, Peter Strzok and Lisa Page.
That answer surprised no one.
McCabe, Strzok, and Page reside at the heart of the Deep State conspiracy against Donald Trump.
But Gowdy’s next line of questioning brought the scandal to Robert Mueller’s doorstep.
Gowdy moved on to grilling Ohr on which individuals at the Justice Department he discussed Steele’s findings with.
“Who at department knew that you were talking to Chris Steele and Glenn Simpson?” asked the South Carolina Republican.
“I spoke with some people in the Criminal Division, other career officials who dealt with some of these matters,” Ohr answered.
That answer whetted Gowdy’s appetite.
“Any of them have names?” Gowdy responded.
“Yes, so I was about to tell you,” Ohr answered. “One of them was Bruce Swartz, who is the counselor for international affairs in the Criminal Division; a person who was working with him at the time, working on similar matters in the Criminal Division, was Zainab Ahmad; and a third person who was working on some — some of these matters, I believe, was Andrew Weissmann.”
“Who is that last one?” he asked.
“He was head of the Fraud Section at the time,” Ohr answered.
“I’ve heard his name somewhere before, I think,” Gowdy declared.
Ohr’s answer left jaws on the ground.
Weissmann is one of Mueller’s most aggressive prosecutors.
He is also one of the most partisan Democrats on the Mueller team.
Americans lost faith in the ability of Mueller to conduct a fair investigation when it was learned that Weissmann attended Hillary Clinton’s Election Night victory party.
And the public also lost trust in Mueller when they began to dig into Weissmann’s history as an unethical bull-in-a-china-shop prosecutor.
The Supreme Court once threw out of all Weissmann’s convictions he won in the Enron scandal because of his prosecutorial misconduct.
Now it is public that Weissmann was in on the ground floor of the Obama administration’s scheme to use the FBI to take out Donald Trump.
We will keep you up to date on any new developments in this ongoing story.
